"An apple a day keeps doctor away" this is a quote which we have been hearing since our childhood, but what if I say, today we are going to doctors due to eating apples. But how? Before this first let's get some important information about apples.

There are almost, 2700 varieties of apples worldwide which are adapted to different environment. Apple is considered one of the most nutritious fruit which contains vitamin B2, B6, vitamin C and other important minerals such as potassium, manganese and phosphorus. Apple provides numerous health benefits.

Health benefits of apple

1. Apple decreases the risk of diabetes

According to research, those we eat apple daily has 28 % less chance of getting type 2 diabetes than those who avoids eating apple. Type 2 diabetes is the condition when pancreas make less insulin which results in increase of blood sugar.

2. Apple keeps teeth healthy and white

By eating or chewing an apple, a large quantity of saliva is produced in the mouth. This not only helps to reduce the chance of tooth decay, but it also reduces the number of bacteria in the mouth. 

3. Apple keeps heart healthy

The skin or peel of apple contain some compound which helps to prevent cholesterol building in arteries. Like this, the blood flows normally, due to which the risk of heart attack or heart stroke reduces.

4. Apple can prevent Gallstone formation

Gallstone is the stone which is formed in gallbladder. And the reason behind formation of gallstones is high cholesterol level. Apple is a rich source of fibers which helps to prevent gallstone formation, that's why doctors recommend an apple a day to prevent yourself from such health issues.



5. Apple might help in preventing cancer

According to study, the antioxidant present in apple can help to stop the growth of cancerous cells. So, by eating apples we can prevent cancer like serious illness.



Apples not only prevent from cancer but also from other diseases like asthma, sore throat, diarrhea and constipation. The fiber and antioxidants present in apple helps to boost immune system and reduce risk of blood pressure and also help in weight lose.

Because of these health benefits, the demand of apple has raised in market. Everyone demands red and shiny apple, that's why the apple are made corrupt to fulfill the demand of customers. So the apple which gives health benefits now has causing health problem.

Corruption of apple

There are two main reason of apples corruption. First, the demand of apple is more than the apples grown for the year. So the apple which are harvest for one year are not able to fulfill the demand of complete Year. That why various chemicals and other artificial methods are used to increase the growth of apple.

The Second reason is the rotting of apple. Actually, the fruits which are ripped naturally have a very low shelf life. So when these apples are transported far, from one place to another, they start rotting quickly. So to save these apples from rotting, they are tempered in various ways. Actually to maintain the natural moisture and condition of fruit, the coating of natural wax is used which is permitted legally. But nowadays various types of wax are being used even sometime candle wax is also used to maintain the shininess of fruit, which is obviously harmful for health.

Not only this, but sometime apple are even not given enough time to rip naturally, chemicals such as calcium carbides are used to ripened apple artificially to meet the demands of people. So due to this corruption, the health benefits of apple are changed into health hazards and the quote "An apple a day keeps the Doctor away" is converted to an apple a day takes you to the doctor.
