A tarot reading for February 14th, 2023

A reading about kindness

By Jason Almirez-TaglianettiPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

I hope you’re having a great day and telling your loved ones that you love them today. If not, please do.

Today’s card reading won’t necessarily be about valentines day, although love may be a theme in today’s reading since it’s probably something that’s on everyone’s minds today.

Our first card speaks to us about today in our three-card reading. The Six of Pentacles is all about charity and kindness. The image shows a man in red robes holding a scale in one hand, and with the other, he is giving coins to a man. Another man waits for his turn. The pentacles on the card are arranged in a way that shows an imbalance. The scales also show a slight imbalance as well. At first glance, you might think it’s balanced, but it’s just slightly off a little. Not a lot, though. The pentacles and the scale are skewed to the side of the card in which a man is receiving. And this could represent a minor imbalance in our charity or giving. Are we giving a little more to one side than the other? This card asks us to look at our giving and make sure that we balance it so that it’s going to the right places.

Our advice card is the Four of Pentacles. Another pentacle card. Today’s reading is defiantly about possessions and earthly things. The pentacles often reference work or finances. I see the pentacles in today’s cards representing possessions—things we have. In the Four of Pentacles, a man is sitting. Both feet are firmly planted on two pentacles. He holds another in his hands, and the fourth hovers above his head. The two on the ground give the man stability and grounding. He is balanced. He holds one pentacle near his heart. This is a valuable possession, and he cares for it deeply. The pentacle on his head represents that which he holds in his mind. Here he values his thoughts and ideas as much as he values everything else. In conjunction with the Six of Pentacles, this card speaks about holding on to what we love. That we should be giving today, we should be charitable. But we should also do it in a balanced way. He is making sure that we give evenly. But make sure to save something for yourself also. Please don’t give it all away so that you have nothing left for yourself to enjoy. This may be in money, gifts, or your energy and time. Save some of what you have for yourself.

Our last card is our takeaway card. Until now, it’s been laying face down on my desk. I started doing this recently as I saw this previous card distracting me from the rest of the reading. Leaving it face down until the end allows me to focus solely on the first two cards.

Our takeaway for today is the Ten of Cups. This card is probably one of the happiest cards in the tarot deck. It shows a family enjoying all that they have. The adults in the card have their arms spread out, indicating that they are enjoying the scene before them. The children are dancing and playing. In the sky is a rainbow with ten cups. Rainbows show us all the colors in the visible spectrum. Cups are a symbol of our emotions. And there are a lot of them in this card. There is a lush landscape with a river and a house. There is enough to make everyone happy and content for as long as anyone wants.

In tarot, the ten cards are all about excess to some degree. And this card doesn’t disappoint in that regard. There are a lot of cups in this card. Lots of emotions. Maybe an overwhelming amount of emotion. This card reminds us to be happy with what we have. To enjoy all that we have achieved. It’s also a reminder that companionship and family are essential parts of our lives and should be just as honored as anything else. So if anything, our takeaway card reminds us to be happy today with what we have. Please give of yourself today, but also be giving and kind to yourself as well. Happiness is yours if you choose it.

Thanks for reading today. If you enjoyed this, please give it some claps, or if it resonated with you, please let me know in the comments. As with anything in tarot, keep what you resonate with and leave what doesn’t. And if you know someone who might benefit from this message today, please share it with them.

Thanks again, and have a great Valentine’s Day!
