In this period of stress and anxiety we have all undergone some pretty intense situations. Between violence in the streets, COVID-19, and the upcoming election date that determines who runs the country for the next 4 years, we have literally driven out a majority of the sanity left in our nation. (oh, and there was something about murder hornets, but I personally haven’t seen one, crossing my fingers)
So how has isolation affected us? Most of the population is in fact glued to their phones today and one of the reasons why this has become a problem is because NOW we do not leave our phones. We do not socialize because of the COVID-19 quarantine and because of riots and pandemonium in the streets. What does this create? It makes us believe that we are in fact only allowed to the opinion and facts that are live streamed to our televisions/mobile devices. We listen to rumors and no one is getting 100% beyond a shadow of a doubt FACTS.
The rush of information is entirely based off of what we google out of boredom, what videos we watch, and what the media wants us to believe.
So how does this affect you?
When was the last time you had an open face to face discussion of opinions with another individual?
When was the last time you received both parts of the story? And not just a one-sided version of it?
When was the last time you did something that did NOT involve a discussion about politics, or COVID-19, or as I like to refer to it “the state of affairs that we are in”?
When we bombard ourselves with the paranoia that surrounds us we become paranoid. I see it every time I watch the news. I see it every time I open my social media. What has this done to our country?
It has created mass hysteria and discord between you and your fellow man/woman.
How do you prevent this from driving you insane? Simple. Make a conscientious decision to look at something other than the craziness that is going on around us.
Take a minute to breath people. We will survive.
You deserve more than just what the media wants you to believe you deserve peace. Before getting caught up in your emotions today, take a second to say “I deserve a moment of peace.”
This is not the “new normal” because we shouldn’t be brought down by insanity. We should not allow it to completely change who we are as individuals. It is just a bunch of occurrences that have occurred. We just have to get over the 50 billion ways the media wants us to panic, and understand that it just “be like that sometimes”. The more people who are not phased the less food given to the fire. And if you need some assistance, here is 11 hours of ocean sounds.
You're welcome!
