A Bit of Nourishment and a Whole Lot of Love

Each choice is ours to make.

By Wendy CarrilloPublished 5 years ago 2 min read

These are very heavy times on our beautiful planet. We all are aware that the biggest topic in the news today is the global pandemic. I know that this is a sensitive subject for all of us, at the moment. When I look around, all I can do, sometimes, is shake my head... It seems to be this world of ours is getting worse, not better.

How can this be the case, when there is so much information out there giving us guidance and direction on how we can create a healthier world for all? Where is the disconnect between what we know is right and good, and the actual positive efforts that we make in our personal and daily lives?

There is so much pain and dis-ease in our world today. It can feel too overwhelming to deal with. However, we have to become the change we want to see in our world. It will not do, to simply talk about it anymore. If you are not taking action to create this change in your personal life, then you are becoming a part of the problem.

It has been proven, time and time again, that what we feed and fuel our bodies directly impacts our thoughts, our feelings, our actions. You can not think clearly if you're not receiving proper nourishment.

Chemicals in our food are out of control and mental illnesses and diseases on the rise. There is, ABSOLUTELY, a connection. If we want to address certain mental illnesses and get ahead of disease, we must look at what we are feeding our people. Medications have their proper time and place. However, what is on our plates are the building blocks of who we become. So, while you are trying to wrap your head around the sickness in the world today, remember: Change starts with us, and can be as simple as looking at what is on your plate.

What are we doing to help our family and our community? Are we willing to have those difficult conversations around the actual definition of health and wellness? What are we putting on our plate to feed our brain? And lastly, are we providing our family and friends with spiritual nourishment, by showing them how much we love them and care for them on a daily basis? Are we allowing them to feel that they matter?

Yes, these are difficult times. but we ARE better than the sorrow bearing down on us all, and WE WILL rise above, because the good in our world DOES outweigh the bad. Our media thrives on the negative, so we have to look for and BECOME the positive. Remember, it is through our simple daily choices that we become a solution to the problems that we see around us. What we do ripples and influences others. Good or bad, each choice is ours to make. Let's not walk through life on auto-pilot. Let's work together, with pure intention, to create a better tomorrow for us all.

I love you all!
