1. Begin by separately soaking 4 parts of rice to 1 part of urud dal in water for 3 to 4 hours. If you are following step 3 then you can ignore this step.

2. After soaking, employ a powerful blender like the Preethi Zodiac to grind the urud dal along with a spoonful of fenugreek seeds (which should also be soaked). Blenders offer greater accessibility and versatility compared to traditional grinding machines.

3. Opt for rice powder instead of soaked rice, as rice absorbs less water and is easier to grind in the blender. Incorporate up to 4.5 cups of rice powder into the batter.

4. Thoroughly mix the ground urud dal and rice powder to achieve a smooth batter.

5. Transfer the batter into a suitable container or trough that fits inside the electric rice cooker.

6. Place the container in the rice cooker, ensuring that the water level doesn't overflow while maximizing contact with the cooker's external surface.

7. Engage the rice cooker's warm mode, allowing the batter to ferment overnight.
