About Yoga:

Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual discipline that originated in ancient India. It involves a series of poses, or asanas, that are designed to improve flexibility, strength, and balance. Here are 10 common yoga poses that you can try at home:

  1. Mountain Pose (Tadasana): This pose helps to improve posture and balance. Stand with your feet hip-width apart and your arms at your sides. Engage your core and lift your arms overhead, keeping your shoulders relaxed.
  2. Downward-Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana): This pose stretches the entire body and is great for relieving tension in the back. Start on all fours with your wrists under your shoulders and your knees under your hips. Lift your hips and straighten your legs to form an inverted V shape.
  3. Plank Pose (Phalakasana): This pose strengthens the core, arms, and legs. Start in a push-up position with your hands under your shoulders and your feet hip-width apart. Engage your core and hold the position for 30 seconds to a minute.
  4. Triangle Pose (Trikonasana): This pose helps to improve flexibility and balance. Stand with your feet about 3-4 feet apart. Extend your arms to the sides and turn your right foot out at a 90-degree angle. Reach your right hand down to your right ankle, while extending your left arm toward the ceiling. Hold for 30 seconds to a minute and then switch sides.
  5. Warrior II Pose (Virabhadrasana II): This pose helps to strengthen the legs and improve balance. Stand with your feet about 3-4 feet apart and turn your right foot out at a 90-degree angle. Bend your right knee and extend your arms out to the sides. Hold for 30 seconds to a minute and then switch sides.
  6. Seated Forward Bend (Paschimottanasana): This pose helps to improve flexibility in the hamstrings and lower back. Sit on the floor with your legs extended in front of you. Reach for your toes, keeping your back straight. Hold for 30 seconds to a minute.
  7. Child's Pose (Balasana): This pose is great for relaxation and stretching the back muscles. Start on all fours and then lower your hips back towards your heels, stretching your arms out in front of you. Hold for 30 seconds to a minute.
  8. Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana): This pose helps to strengthen the upper body and improve flexibility in the spine. Lie face down on the floor with your palms on the floor next to your chest. Lift your chest off the ground, keeping your hips on the ground. Hold for 30 seconds to a minute.
  9. Corpse Pose (Savasana): This pose is a relaxing and restorative pose that is often done at the end of a yoga practice. Lie on your back with your arms by your sides and your legs extended. Close your eyes and focus on your breath, letting go of any tension in your body. Hold for 5-10 minutes.
  10. Cat-Cow Pose (Marjaryasana-Bitilasana): This pose helps to improve flexibility in the spine and can be calming for the mind. Start on all fours with your wrists under your shoulders and your knees under your hips. Inhale and arch your back, bringing your head towards the ground (cow pose). Exhale and round your back, tucking your chin towards your chest (cat pose). Repeat for several breaths.
