The guardian angel on your wrist - The emergency call button from Panion®
Panion®

Panion® Senioren Notrufknopf is a start-up founded in Munich in 2015 that specializes in the production of emergency call systems for senior citizens. It combines state-of-the-art technology to provide comprehensive protection for senior citizens both at home and on the move. Each emergency call system is equipped with a modern fall sensor, an emergency call button and a hands-free function. The main sales markets are Spain, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
In contrast to conventional home emergency call systems, up to 10 private contact persons can be stored in the Panion emergency call bracelet, who are automatically called one after the other in the event of a fall or by pressing the SOS button.
Over 80% of emergency calls received by an emergency call center are false alarms. These are often senior citizens who are insecure or need emotional support. In these cases, however, it is not necessary to call an emergency call center or an emergency doctor. This is exactly where the Panion® emergency call button for senior citizens comes in. By pressing the emergency call button or triggered by a fall, only previously stored relatives are initially informed. They can assess the situation much better than a stranger in an emergency call control center, for example.
Relatives can then decide for themselves whether they want to call an emergency doctor or whether a reassuring conversation or assistance over the phone is enough. The person in need of care can communicate directly via the emergency call button. The emergency call button has an integrated hands-free function which allows the senior to communicate directly without having to pick up a receiver.
The M-GUARD PRO makes it possible to store up to ten contact persons who are automatically notified in an emergency. In the event of an emergency call, the stored contacts receive both a call and a text message with the exact location data. GPS tracking is accurate to within 20 meters. This helps seniors with dementia or Alzheimer's to locate and find their way back if they get lost.

The emergency call button is waterproof and can also be worn in the shower or in the rain.
The Panion emergency call button combines state-of-the-art technology with easy handling: an emergency call button, automatic fall detection, GPS positioning and integrated two-way communication make it possible to call for help quickly in an emergency. Up to ten personal contacts can be stored - these are automatically informed in an emergency. Communication takes place directly via the device, without any complicated technology or smartphone connection.
A major advantage: the system works without a contract or subscription model. Users only need a SIM card and there are no monthly basic charges. Set-up is simple and can be completed within a few minutes.
Conventional home emergency call systems often cost several thousand euros over several years. Panion's emergency call button, on the other hand, is comparatively inexpensive with a one-off purchase cost of €199 and also offers significantly more functions than a classic home emergency call. The automatic fall detection works reliably and recognizes most falls.
In the event of a fall, the device automatically triggers a call loop without the wearer having to press a button.
Thanks to its mobility, the system not only works at home, but also on the move, which is particularly beneficial for people with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Another plus point is the independence from monthly subscriptions; a standard SIM card without data volume is sufficient.
The quality and user-friendliness of the M-GUARD PRO were recognized in 2024 with the German Health Award in the Home Emergency Call Systems category. This recognition is based on feedback from over 45,000 respondents and underlines Panion's commitment to excellent customer service and product quality.

This Panion emergency call system for seniors sounds really useful. I like how it lets up to 10 contacts be notified first, so family can handle things better. The hands-free function is great too. But I wonder how well it works in areas with spotty GPS coverage. Also, how easy is it to set up and use? Seems like it could give a lot of peace of mind to seniors and their families.
