Let's discuss confidence in ourselves. I recently recorded a podcast with Matt Hall of Success School, and during our conversation, we discussed resilience in the face of rejection and ridicule, as well as self-confidence.

I have a strong interest in this topic because I have experienced both rejection and ridicule numerous times in my life. How can one stay resilient in the face of these challenges? It all comes down to you acquiring the superpower of not caring what other people think of you, and I know that this is easier said than done.

How do you acquire that superpower, which permeates everything in your life, when faced with seemingly insurmountable obstacles?

it's about tuning out all the noise around you and really going inward to know who you are and to be confident in that no matter what so I have experienced a lot of rejection in my life as you know especially professionally I never let the rejection get me down.

thank God because if I did do that I wouldn't be here today talking to you that's for sure and I wouldn't be living my dream as I am through my career because I love what I do so I shared a story in my podcast with Matt about one of the rejections that I got early on in my career.

this literary agent who I was trying to sign with told me that my book book my first one lessons from Madame Sheik was not going to be popular people were not going to read it.

it was too similar to Ines LA's book Parisian sheet which had just come out at the time and I remember thinking what is this lady talking about nessa's book is wonderful it's a fantastic book but my book is not like her book it's very different and there's room for both but in her mind she did not see that she saw that there was only room for one and because ANZ is a celebrity that was the one right there was no room for my book after she rejected me I thought okay her opinion is not my reality I was not rude to her I didn't argue with her I allowed her to think that and I accepted the rejection from her and I moved on I think where a lot of people get tripped.

up is that they want to convince these people that they are worthy and if I had gone back and you know pleaded with her well you don't see it I mean my book is really good and trying to convince her this first of all I'd be working with a literary agent who didn't believe in me okay and now I have been with the most wonderful literary agent at Trident Media Group Erica Silverman and we've been together for you know 12 years now we love each other she gets me she's the perfect agent for me whereas I would have been yolked with this person that I'm like arguing with and doesn't believe in me do you know what I mean

so when you meet these people that don't get you move on because you don't need to convince them it's like you have too many things to do so she told me this and of course the book ended up being successful.

that's a whole story in itself I've told it many times and you can listen to my um interview on Matt's podcast if you want to know the full story but basically about a year later I remember walking into anthropology and anthropology is a big store here in America and my book was next to anz's book on one of the display tables they were selling.

both of them side by side together which just shows that yes that reality could exist that agent could not see it but I could see it and I knew that there was room for both so when someone is so short of themselves and they tell you nope nope I can't see it this isn't happening I'm sorry you're wasting your time you need to just thank them and move on and don't let their opinion define your reality I have another story called Lily.

Once upon a time, in a small village nestled at the foot of a majestic mountain range, there lived a young girl named Lily.

She had always been fascinated by the stories her grandmother told her about the magical creatures that dwelled in the enchanted forest beyond the village.

Lily's heart yearned for adventure, and she longed to explore the mysterious woods that beckoned her with its whispers of secrets and wonders.

One day, unable to resist the allure any longer, Lily gathered her courage and set off on a journey to discover the truth behind the legends.

As she ventured deeper into the forest, she encountered a variety of extraordinary creatures – from mischievous fairies to gentle woodland nymphs. Each encounter filled her heart with awe and wonder, and she marveled at the beauty and magic that surrounded her.

But it was when she stumbled upon a wounded unicorn, its silver mane tarnished and dull, that Lily's true courage was tested. With a tender touch and a kind heart, she nursed the creature back to health, restoring its radiant glow.

Grateful for her kindness, the unicorn revealed to Lily a hidden treasure within the forest – a shimmering pool of water that possessed the power to grant any wish.

Overwhelmed with joy, Lily knew exactly what she desired – to bring happiness and prosperity to her village. With a sincere wish in her heart, she dipped her hand into the pool, and as she did, a brilliant light enveloped her.

When it faded, Lily found herself back in her village, but it was no longer the same. The once barren fields were now lush with crops, and the villagers wore smiles of contentment on their faces.

From that day forward, Lily was hailed as a hero, and her story became legend. She had learned that true magic lies not in spells or potions but in acts of kindness and selflessness.

And so, she continued to spread joy and love throughout her village, forever grateful for the enchanting adventure that had changed her life.
