To understand the relationship between sleep patterns and kidney stone risk in Chinese adults, a team of researchers from the Peking University School of Public Health, the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and the Clinical and Epidemiological Resea

In fact, sleep is a very natural process, we should naturally feel sleepy, and then fall asleep naturally. But if your mental state is constantly high, it will be difficult to relax and fall asleep, and the more you push yourself, the less you will feel sleepy.
Try taking a walk outside before bed or showering before bed, both of which will help you relax and fall asleep faster. In addition to traditional hot milk, you can eat a moderate amount of fruit.
Apple, banana, tangerine, orange, pear and other fruits have a calming effect on the nervous system. Most popular hypnotic programs use music to induce sleep. Listening to rhythmic sounds, such as the patter of rain and the sound of waves, can help.rch Unit at the University of Oxford in the UK combed through prospective long-term follow-up data on chronic diseases in China and analyzed information from 501,701 participants. The participants were free of chronic kidney disease, malignant tumors and sleep disorders at the start of the study. The researchers collected data on sleep symptoms, daytime sleepiness, napping habits, snoring and sleep duration. Participants' sleep quality was also rated on a scale of 0 to 3 based on insomnia symptoms, daytime sleepiness, and sleep duration. A Cox proportional hazard regression model was used to analyze the association of sleep factors, sleep scores, and kidney stone risk.
A total of 12,381 participants were diagnosed with kidney stones for the first time during an average follow-up period of 10.7 years. After adjusting for confounding factors, participants who had trouble falling asleep or woke up too early had a 12 percent and 6 percent increased risk of developing kidney stones, respectively, compared with those without insomnia. Participants who slept for less than seven hours a night had a 13 percent higher risk of developing kidney stones than those who slept for at least seven hours a night. Those who scored 2, 1 and 0 had an 8 percent, 16 percent and 19 percent increased risk of developing kidney stones, respectively, compared with those who scored 3, the highest sleep quality. However, the new study found no significant association between sleeping pills, daytime sleepiness, napping habits and snoring.
Researchers say the new findings show that getting enough sleep is key to overall health, and that poor sleep can increase the risk of kidney stones.
