How to Wake Up Early
Even if You Are Not a Morning Person

Hi guys!
Today I want to give you some tips on how to transform yourself into a morning person. To be honest I was never one to wake up early. I loved to stay up late and sleep in. But, I realized waking up early makes me feel a lot more productive and I am able to do a lot more during the day.
Night Preparation
- To wake up early, you must sleep early. Nobody can function with little sleep and you will be less likely to wake up when the alarm rings if going to bed late. So try to get all the things done by 9 PM—clean your room, do your homework in advance so, you have time to relax before going to bed. A good night routine is key.
Trouble with Sleeping
- Well to be honest, I can’t just lie in bed and sleep. I'm just not tired. My favorite thing to do is to watch another episode of a TV show or go on Youtube. The best thing to watch on Youtube are the "Oddly Satisfying Compilations." (Who is watching them as well? Or am I the only one?)
- If you really can't sleep, a good trick is to shut down any electronics at least an hour before sleeping. Due to the short-wavelength, artificial blue light the release of the sleep-inducing hormone melatonin is suppressed. Try reading instead of watching TV.
- Another good way for better sleep, is to use lavender. The smell affects your blood pressure and heart rate, so your body gets into the relaxed mode. My favorite way to use lavender is with a diffuser. I always use this trick, when I'm stressed out or nervous—usually one day before an exam.
Wake up in the morning.
- Drink water first thing in the morning! It does not only rehydrate your body after eight hours of sleep with no water at all, but also wakes you up instantly. I always have a glass of water right next to my bed.
- Another thing I do is open my blinds and my window. Due to the brightness and the cold fresh air, I will not fall asleep again.
- If you can't help but just fall asleep again, try to put your phone or your alarm clock somewhere, where you need to get out of bed and move to turn off the alarm.
Morning Routine
- Last but not least, have a good morning routine. Waking up early is tough and I hate it. This is why a good morning routine is so important. Due to that, you can just function on autopilot and don’t have to think about what you need to do.
