How To Make Your Hair Grow Faster
Several practices can help you regrow hair naturally. This can include scalp massages and the use of aloe vera or essential oils such as coconut and lemon oil.

Hair seems to have a habit of growing in unwanted places (toes, armpits, and other parts of your body). But how do you grow hair faster on your head? The problem is, too many hair care products promise too much, cost a lot of money, and then don't deliver. On average, hair grows half an inch [approximately 1.3cm] a month. Roughly, that works out at 6 inches, or 15cm per year, although this may vary from person to person.
Several ways can help promote healthier and faster hair growth such as: consuming more protein, using products that contain caffeine, avoiding permanent dyes, and reducing stress.
We are born with all the hair follicles we have, including around 80,000–120,000 on your scalp. Hair grows from a root at the bottom of the follicle beneath your skin. Blood in your scalp flows to the follicles and supplies oxygen and nutrients to the hair roots, which helps hair grow. As the hair grows, it pushes against the skin and passes through the oil glands. Oil from these glands makes hair shiny and soft. As you age, it is normal for you to lose around 100 strands of hair a day. However, some factors such as genetics can increase this number. Here are tips for growing hair faster and healthier:
A Well Balanced Diet
Poor lifestyle and diet have limited effect on the rate of growth but do have an impact on the quality. Hair is made from 97% protein. Hair needs adequate regular amounts of complete protein, vitamins, minerals and water as well as the omega 3 fatty acids found in oily fish, fruit and vegetables. To ensure your hair is getting the protein it needs to grow, eat at least a palm-sized serving of protein at breakfast and lunch. Great examples are fish, eggs, lean meat, low-fat cottage cheese, quinoa and beans. To help ensure that your hair is receiving sufficient energy for growth, include a portion of complex carbohydrates with each meal. i.e. brown rice, whole-wheat toast, potatoes with skin-on or oatmeal.
Assess Protein Intake
If your diet is severely restrictive, hair won't grow optimally, and shedding can occur. Eating a well-balanced diet with sufficient protein intake is important for optimal hair growth. In general, experts recommend 50 grams of protein or more per day. Several options for protein powders include Gainful Protein Powder and Ritual Essential Protein.
Essential Oils
Essential oils don't just smell good, but they may also help promote hair growth. A 2021 study found that after 3 months, pumpkin seed oil applied topically increased hair regrowth in participants with female pattern baldness. However, larger studies are required to further support these results. Other important oils that may help prevent hair loss and promote hair growth include lavender oil, jojoba oil, peppermint oil, rosemary oil
Try Products Containing Caffeine
Caffeine may have topical uses that can help increase hair growth. A 2020 review suggests that caffeine in topical products, such as shampoo and conditioner, can prevent hair loss as effectively as medication-based treatments. Caffeine can promote hair growth by stimulating metabolism and cell proliferation.
Talk to a Doctor Regarding Minoxidil.
Minoxidil is a medicine that may help prevent hair loss and promote hair growth. It's usually sold over-the-counter (OTC) as Rogaine. This medication may not work for everyone and it may take up to 12 months before you see results. It's best used as part of hair loss treatment plan, rather than on its own.
Scalp Scrubs and Regular Shampooing.
Hair grows better from a healthy scalp. So it's important to cleanse it regularly, because shampooing gets rid of the dirt and debris on the scalp, which includes pollution, sweat and old skin cells. And to make the most of it, thoroughly massage your shampoo in. Scalp massage is good for blood circulation which brings oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicle and removes toxins.
Finally, it's a good idea to use an exfoliating scalp mask once a week to keep your scalp replenished and to remove dead skin cells. Both exfoliating and cleansing will also help to remove any blockages (like dead skin cells or product build-up) from impinging your hair from growing. You can use a scrub, just be careful to scrub gently as not to cause breakages.
