How I Made $1,000 a Week Using AI Tools (No Tech Skills Needed)

From Zero Skills to Steady Income — My Step-by-Step Journey with Free Tools and Smart Strategy

By Muhammad SaeedPublished 6 months ago 3 min read

In January, I was unemployed, broke, and living in my cousin’s spare room. I had no tech background, no marketing degree, and zero clue how people were actually making money online. But I had one thing: time.

That’s when I stumbled across a YouTube video titled, “Earn $100 a Day Using AI Tools.” I rolled my eyes at first—another scam, probably. But something about it felt different. The guy wasn't showing Lamborghinis or fake screenshots—just screen recordings of AI tools like ChatGPT, Canva, and Notion.

He was using ChatGPT to create content, then monetizing it in smart ways. The next day, I signed up and started experimenting.

I typed:

“Write a motivational quote in the style of Gary Vee.”

In seconds, it gave me something good—good enough to post.

That simple result opened the floodgates.

Step 1: Picking the Right Platform

I discovered Vocal Media and Medium—platforms that actually pay you based on how many people read your stories. No experience needed, no pitching editors. Just write and post.

I started writing short lifestyle articles using ChatGPT to help me outline, reword, or expand ideas I already had. I added personal touches so it didn’t sound robotic.

In my first week, I wrote 7 articles.

In week two, I earned $16.40.

Not a lot—but it was my first dollar online.

Step 2: Adding Affiliate Links

I learned that affiliate marketing could supercharge income. I signed up for Amazon Associates, Canva’s affiliate program, and Fiverr Affiliates. Now, whenever I wrote an article like:

“Top 5 AI Tools for Beginners”

“How I Use Canva to Design Like a Pro”

…I added relevant affiliate links. If someone clicked and signed up, I earned a commission.

By the end of month one, I’d made $140 from Vocal Media and $110 in affiliate commissions. My confidence was growing.

Step 3: Offering AI Services on Fiverr

I realized I could offer writing and design services powered by AI. Using ChatGPT, I started offering:

Blog post writing

Instagram captions

Product descriptions

E-book formatting using Canva

I wasn’t lying to clients—I was clear that I used AI to speed up content creation, and I always manually edited the final output. Clients didn’t mind. In fact, they liked how fast I delivered.

My first Fiverr gig? A 500-word blog post for $15.

Within 30 days, I had 18 orders.

Total: $475.

Step 4: Repurposing Everything

One of the smartest things I did was repurpose content. I used the same AI-generated text to:

Post to Medium and Vocal

Turn into carousel posts for Instagram using Canva

Break down into Twitter threads

Record short talking videos for TikTok using the same script

This meant more reach, more traffic to my links, and more money.

My Weekly Routine

I created a simple schedule:

Monday–Wednesday: Write 3–4 articles with ChatGPT, post on Medium & Vocal

Thursday–Friday: Fulfill Fiverr orders

Saturday–Sunday: Batch-create Canva content & schedule social media posts

With this, I built a system. And systems create scalable income.

By month three, I was making over $1,000 a week consistently:

~$300 from affiliate links

~$350 from writing platforms

~$400 from Fiverr services

It wasn’t always easy. Some days I earned nothing. Some clients ghosted. Some posts flopped. But I kept showing up—and kept improving how I used AI.

Final Thoughts

AI didn’t do the work for me. It gave me the tools, the speed, and the leverage I didn’t have before. And I used those tools to build real income—without writing a single line of code.

No boss. No office. No tech skills.

Just AI, effort, and a bit of patience.

If I can go from broke and clueless to making $1,000 a week, so can you.

All you need to do is start.
