Digital eye diseases
First we see what is the cause of such a disease in the eyes. The human eye is evolutionary or historically designed to see far

Every education from nursery to PhD is now online. And one of the many unique aspects of this new lifestyle is the exponential increase in our screen time. For this harmful habit, eye specialists once asked people to minimize screen time. But in today's age it is difficult if not impossible to avoid laptop and mobile screen.
Eye problems caused by looking at mobile or laptop screen for many hours are called digital eye strain or computer vision syndrome. Symptoms of this disease include increased pressure on the eyes. These include red eyes, feeling constantly tired or dry eyes. Every other person is suffering from this condition nowadays.
Whether it is studying online or doing office work from home.
Now the question is why it happens and how it can be prevented. ?
First we see what is the cause of such a disease in the eyes. The human eye is evolutionary or historically designed to see far. When the inner eye muscles responsible for focusing our lens are completely relaxed, our eye focuses on objects 6 meters and beyond.
But when we have to look closer, these same muscles are working and bring the focus to 60 cm. If you are looking at a fixed mobile, this same focusing system is working continuously. Let us explain this to you with an example. Generally, our hands do not get tired of carrying a cup of tea for five minutes. But if the same hand lifts the same small cup for five hours, then our arms will become weak, in the same way, our eyes will not get tired if we look closely for a while, but if we focus on the same place for hours, the inner muscles of the eyes will not only get tired. will go.
It will also cause headaches and some nausea. Similarly, when we are doing close work, the amount of time we blink also decreases. Blinking 20 times a minute is normal, but when the same eye is focusing up close, it blinks less than 5 times. Due to this less blinking, the amount of moisture in the eyes decreases and the eyes start to dry out.
And it becomes an aid to sleep that the eyes are not only tired but also dry.
Now let's see how it is possible to avoid it.
There are two parts to this prevention. One is the work that we have to do to save our eyes. Like the 20-20-20 rule. According to this rule, we have to look 20 feet away for 20 seconds after every 20 minutes to reduce the constant eye strain and fatigue.
The second is to blink your eyelids every once in a while. So that frequent tears clean our eyes and minimize the possibility of dryness.
The second section contains on-screen instructions. The bigger the screen the better. The smaller it is, the more focus you have to make and the more damage you will do. In addition, the distance from the screen should be more.
If your laptop is lying on a table, just having a wireless mouse and keyboard can extend the distance. Similarly, the gamer should sit at least 6-8 feet away from the TV. Also, if the light on the screen is bright, then the focus will have to be increased. While matching the screen and the room light will reduce the strain on your eyes. Matt screens put less strain on the eyes than glossy screens.
Also, a good chair and table help to relax your body and eyes.
In the end, there is only one request to the readers that if your eyes are protesting due to constant use and excessive screen time and do not support you, then show them to a qualified doctor. So that your dry eyes, undue pressure and digital eye strain related disease can be properly diagnosed and you can be given the number of suitable glasses and eye drops and medicine can be prescribed according to the condition of the eyes.
If you damage your eyes with idleness and useless experiments, you will remember that Allah Almighty has given us all this blessing once and it is our duty to take proper care of it. It is our prayer that you all keep your eyes safe and keep seeing the colors of the world. Amen.
