There are only a rare few people in the world who have not had that one pimple in their lifetime; there are those who have struggled with acne during their younger days, but things have cleared up in the days to come and then there are those who continue to struggle with the same for the longest time. Acne is a problem that is a lot more common than most people think and in most cases, it can be treated quite easily, especially if you are able to locate a really good acne treatment clinic.

Let’s first start with what exactly is acne and what causes it:

•Your skin has millions of pores and these pores open when you sweat or heat/steam comes onto your skin and during this time, it is very easy for anything to get stuck inside those pores. Anything from dead skin cells to the dirt, grime and pollution could get trapped within those pores. Once the pores get clogged, the oil starts to build up and that leads to an infection that leads to the formation of bumps that could be presented in the form of pus filled boils, which are most commonly known as pimples. When the skin is plagued by the problem constantly, it is known as acne.

•A pimple is the most basic form of acne, because there are several variations of it - papules, pustules, nodules and cysts are all types of acne and the method of treating each might vary.

•Acne can be caused due to several factors including having a diet that has high amounts of refined sugars or carbohydrates, hormonal changes due to pregnancy or puberty, certain medications and genetics.

When you go to a reputed acne treatment clinic, you can be sure that you can have access to proper treatment protocols – all good clinics will first and foremost give your skin a thorough examination, in an attempt to understand what exactly is causing your acne. This will include questions related to your health, your regular routines and your eating habits as well. Once the underlying cause of the acne has been deciphered, a course of treatment will be decided for you.

Some of the most common methods of treating acne include:

Over the counter medications: This is perhaps the easiest and the most common way of treating acne – if your acne has not progressed immensely or is not extreme, you might be prescribed medications. These could vary from medicated facewashes to gels and lotions and most of these can be used at home. If the condition is not extreme, you should be able to see results within a few weeks of usage of these methods.

Chemicals peels: You can get access to a range of chemical peels at a reputed acne treatment clinic and what these do essentially is that they peel off the top layer of the skin. A carefully chosen combination of chemicals that are safe for the skin are applied to the skin and what it does is erode the epidermis gently, revealing healthier skin that sits just underneath. The process also pushes the body into healing itself and that pushes the production of collagen.

•Microdermabrasion: Like a chemical peel, this process also removes the top layer of the skin, but here a tool is used to abrade the skin. because the skin is being “injured”, the body will take the required actions to heal the skin and this leads to you seeing better and healthier skin.

Laser therapies:Laser devices can be used on the skin to agitate the cells that sit within the skin and improve the skin condition and reduce acne. However, it is important that you get the laser treatment done only from a reputed and licensed acne treatment clinic.

Acne is a problem that if handled well can be cured completely and you can have skin that you will fall in love with!
