5 Best Fasting Methods for Fast Weight Loss

Do you want to lose weight fast, lower the risk of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease and overcome insulin resistance? You have to try fasting because it has been shown to help fix these health issues and improve your health in so many other ways. Fasting is not simply skipping meals, there has to be a formula to read or else you won't be able to do it long term or successfully and that's why I want to share with you five fasting methods that can help you lose weight fast and improve your overall health. I want you to try all these five methods and then use the plan that you feel you can sustain long term.
The first fasting method is the most popular one, this is the 16 to 8 fasting which most people refer to as intermittent fasting, but all the methods I'm going to share here are intermittent fasting methods. With this one you fast for 16 hours, 16 hours of fasting and then you have a feeding or eating window of eight hours. Let's say feeding during this time you can eat the foods that are in your diet plan, obviously you want to eat healthy foods even if you are fasting during the fasting period. All you can take is water, green tea, black coffee or black tea without sugar. What you want to do is avoid calories during the 16 hours.
The second method is the five to two fasting method. With this fasting method you eat at a moderate calorie deficit or at maintenance where you eat just the number of calories that your body needs to maintain your current weight for five days and then for two days. Eat not more than 500 calories if you're a woman and not more than 600 calories if you are a man. How can you use five to two to help you lose weight? One of the ways to use this is to do it on weekends. You still have to eat the right foods, avoid foods that may trigger your cravings or food that have lots of calories.
Number three we have alternate day fasting. What is alternate day fasting? Alternate day fasting is where on day one you eat at maintenance. When I talk of Maintenance this is the number of calories that you need to maintain your current weight. You eat at maintenance then for the next day you eat 500 calories then the next day you eat at maintenance and keep alternating like that. This is a strategy that can definitely help you maintain a calorie deficit but you need to have the discipline because what tends to happen with strategies like this one is that on the days that you're eating on maintenance you may go overboard each too much which leads to excess calories and make it impossible for you to lose weight even if you starve yourself the next day. You need to try all these methods and see what works best for you.
Number four we have a 36 hour fast. Now I know this sounds scary but some people love it and swear by it so I had to mention it. This is where you go for 36 hours straight without eating foods that contain calories or drinking any beverages that contain calories. Now this is not a strategy that I would use personally or recommend but give it a shot with 36 hour fast.
Finally, it's my favorite fasting method and this is the 24 hour fast. Even though 24 hour fasting requires you to go for 24 hours without eating, you won't skip eating a single day. What you do is if you eat lunch at 1pm you're going to eat the next meal tomorrow at 1pm so this means there is no day that you will not eat and with the 24 hour fasting you can do it once or twice a week. With the 24 hour fasting and all other fasting methods you still want to stay hydrated. What you want to do is drink water, drink lemon water, drink green tea, fruit infused water or black coffee. All these beverages keep your body energized during your fast. Try these fasting methods and see which one works best for you, then come back here leave a comment.
