20Cogs

My laptop died this week. She had a good life. I had it since 2014, and I’ve written 10 books and many blog posts on it. I have a lot of memories attached to the laptop and I feel like it’s the end of an era. I am saving up for a new laptop and also applied for a welfare grant form The Writers’ Guild to help towards the cost of a new one. Because my laptop broke down, I have been looking at other ways of earning money online to keep me going till payday.

This is where the website 20Cogs comes in. I’ve only signed up at the beginning of the month. Whilst looking at other sites where I can earn money, 20 Cogs came up in a lot of the lists. 20cogs is pretty self-explanatory. You complete 20 tasks, and then you will get paid for it. C stands for C ompetitions. O is for offers. G is for gaming, and S is for surveys.

As you can see in my image header, my first earning is just under a hundred quid. Some people have earned double that, but I’m not complaining as I’m happy with it. Most of the offers I took are from surveys and betting. Some of my favourite Cogs offer were the subscription services. There are some that I am planning to keep next month. The Graze snack one was really appealing and I’m also keeping the Smol pods Subscription because I believe in their company ethics.

The only times where I’ve had problems with the website were that some offers didn’t really apply to me because I live on my own and don’t have any children or pets in my flat. I felt overwhelmed by the gambling offers because I didn’t want to put too much money in and get addicted. Thankfully, the gambling offers are high paying and do compensate for the money you put in.

Offers taken through Cogs have a traffic light system. Green mean it’s been approved. Amber means pending, and can take up to 30 days. Red means it’s been rejected, but I’ve not had that happen to me yet. When it’s grey, it means it hasn’t quite gone through yet.

Another gem, that this site has introduced me to is Kindred. Kindred is a cash back app that also lets you choose a charity to donate to. So they do have some really great stuff. I also think it’s great if there’s an offer you don’t like, or hat you can’t take you can ask for a new offer. Once all my offers are green, I can cash out. I’m really looking forward to receiving it. I wouldn’t really call it free money, because I did have to work on it and take some time out to make sure I’m following the terms and conditions. I saw a lot of the negative reviews on trust pilot were form people who broke the rules.

My advice for anyone who wants sign up is to screenshot everything, especially welcome emails and transaction histories If you Are waiting for a while for your offers to go amber or green, you can send them a ticket on the help desk. I had to do that quite a few times. I’ve had no problems as the staff have always been quick to respond. Afternoons Seem to be the best time to get a hold of them.

So overall, I think this is a great site to use if you’re in the UK. Sadly, this is only availible to people who have residence in the UK. Other than that, it’s really easy to use. You can use facebook to sign up and sign in. They have an excellent help section and they also have a brilliant referral scheme. One of the tasks I had was to refer a friend.
