Working as a freelancer for the last six years on different freelance platforms has changed my perspective towards freelancing.

Though I still consider freelancing as the best option as compared to a full-time job. To be honest freelance lifestyle is not easy. I will explain why I think so.

1. Full-time employee & Freelancer

Freelancing is the way to do anything you love and make money out of it. It is not tedious. You can choose your work timings. You don't need to get up early and wear a formal dress.

2. On-time delivery

You buyers always expect on-time delivery. If you can't deliver something on time. And you are repeating the same thing again and again. It can ruin your reputation and freelance career. And no one would love to work with you.

3. Client expects quality work

You have to deliver quality work. You need to give your 100% to the work so that the buyers come to you again and again.

4. Night owls

If you are living in Asia and your client is from the US or UK. They have two different time zones.

In this case, you have to sacrifice your night's sleep, If you want to communicate with your client.

If you are not a night owl, sometimes it can create problems for you.

If your buyer is awake, you are sleeping and vice versa.

5. Severe Health conditions

Are you someone with severe health conditions like MS(Multiple Sclerosis)? Then freelancing might not be a good option for you.

Your buyer needs work on time. And you are unable to deliver any work due to health issues.

6. Eyecare

You can ask the importance of eyes who have lost their eyesight. In freelancing, you need to stare screen most of the time. It is not appropriate for your eyes. Take a proper break to give some rest time to your eyes.

7. Health and exercise

Proper and regular exercise is necessary for your health. As compared to a full-time employee, you need to give special attention to your health.

If you get ill, there is no health insurance waiting for you. And no one will come and take over your incomplete work.

8. No one teaches you

If you are working in a company, your senior always helps you. They review your work and correct your silly mistakes. Company trains you to improve your skills. And it is free. But you can't avail this luxury in freelancing.

9. One man army

You are a lone soldier. You have to manage everything yourself. If you are stuck somewhere, no one will come and rescue you. Until and unless you have a cooperative spouse, siblings, good friends, or mentors.

10. Good Research

In a freelance career, you will face challenges daily basis. If your research skills are good enough and you don't get bored digging information. You will always find solutions to your problems. No one can stop you from success.

11. Self-discipline

Self-discipline is critical for a freelancer. No one will remind you to stop watching net-flix and finish your work first.

You need to manage and allot time for good sleep, exercise, family, friends, entertainment, and of course, work.
