Generally speaking, the software used for web browsing is the web browser.

A web browser is basically an application software that is usually installed on the device. When the device is connected to the internet, only the web browser works.

The internet and the web browser are related to each other. Because without the internet we cannot use the web browser, yet the internet is not very useful to us without the web browser.

In the world of the internet, this web browser works like a door for users, which takes us to that world of the internet. With the help of the web browser, we can view many web pages present on the internet and it shows their content like file-footage, audio-video, images-pictures and documents on the device screen.

We just have to enter the url of that web page in the address bar of the browser from where we want to get information, then the browser shows that web page on our screen.

Since the invention of the Internet, there have been browsers on computers. The first browser was called 'world wide web' which was created by Tim Berners-Lee in 1990. Then gradually many big browsers were created in which features like bookmarking, history, audio-video support etc. were added.

Today, a competition has started between many browsers. Which browser is the best, which one wants to increase users all over the world. In the 1990s, Internet Explorer was the most popular web browser, which completely defeated its rival 'Netscape' web browser.

In the new century, some new browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera etc. started making their place on human devices. There are minor differences in all these
browsers but the function of all of them is to surf the internet. If you want, you can use multiple browsers on your computer and mobile as well.

The web browser that we are using to visit various websites in the world of the internet today, that browser definitely has an important history.

The browser translates this language of the computer so that internet users can easily read the content. Some web browsers are only capable of translating text and some browsers support graphics and animations and are capable of translating them.

In simple terms, what is a web browser?

And, every content, picture, audio, video, multimedia, design, image, styling code, script, etc. of the website on the web server is displayed on the computer or mobile screen. And, this important software application is the “browser”.
