Depending on what you post on social networks, you will be judged in a certain way

The influence of social networks in people's daily lives is impressive, many do not even imagine the power that these platforms have. The reality is that every time an individual posts something on Instagram, X, Facebook, Threads, among other platforms, they will be judged by others based on the content of the post. Many people who make regular use of social networks have experienced that their self-esteem has become connected to the public image they give online. constantly judging those behind those Facebook, Instagram or similar profiles. without realizing it, we generate a positive or negative emotional response to the self-referential content that others post.

Everything is judged

It has been shown that those who tend to share negative publications, such as social denunciations or complaints about their academic life, are usually less appreciated. On the other hand, an excess of happiness in updates and photos can create an artificial impression, as if trying to deceive others.

It is important to consider that some people see social networks as a means to express their stress or to generate awareness through criticism, which does not necessarily reflect their true personality. Similarly, there are those who prefer to use photo albums on Facebook to show happy moments, and this also does not define their character. However, we often overlook this reflection and assume that what is presented on the Internet is a true reflection of personality, which leads us to accept or reject people based on it.

There is a tendency to show a special sensitivity to publications that can be interpreted as a show of boasting. In fact, in general, the assessment of others is more positive if the number of publications in which personal achievements and qualities are discussed is reduced.

Thus, something as simple as celebrating triumphs of any kind makes those individuals be valued worse, because it is perceived that they just want to attract attention. Instead of that, it is seen with more pleasure that which has to do with opinions about facts other than oneself, or that occur around one, but that are not a direct reflection of one's virtues.

Attentive to every detail

When you see hundreds of posts from various people on various social networks, there is a tendency to be guided by much less rational intuitions when deciding who is valuable and who is not. That means that totally irrational ways of thinking are adapted without that leading to a healthy reflection. In short, there is a lot of information about others, but it gives few details and is therefore of poor quality; therefore, the way to judge these people is also quick and wrong.

People often judge others on social networks based on a combination of visible behaviors, content, and interactions. Social media platforms encourage sharing aspects of one's life, but this can also lead to quick assumptions and judgments from others. People tend to judge others based on the curated images or videos they post, focusing on how someone looks or what they choose to highlight about their life. There is often pressure to look "perfect" or present a certain lifestyle, leading to both admiration and criticism.

Individuals often form judgments based on the types of content a person posts. For instance, political views, lifestyle choices, and opinions on current events are commonly judged by followers.

The way someone writes or communicates online can also shape others' perceptions. A sarcastic or overly positive tone may be interpreted as inauthentic, while a serious or empathetic tone might be seen as more genuine.

Social network users often make quick judgments about others when they engage with controversial topics, like political debates or social justice issues. These judgments may be influenced by whether someone agrees or disagrees with certain perspectives.

Social networks amplify the ways in which people judge one another by providing easy access to curated aspects of someone's life. The judgments made are often based on visible content, online behavior, and engagement, leading to a complex web of perceptions, both positive and negative.
