The Simple Reason AI Fails Frequently Is The Same As Why Humans Fail Frequently...

But Worse

AI has taken the world by storm over the past couple of years.

It has taken off so much...

That businesses are now starting to replace workers with AI.

The term for these is "AI Agents".

The spread of AI, both as Agents and in other forms, is spreading like wildfire.

It all sounds really impressive on paper...

But the reality?

95% of these programs have failed to produce any results.

AI companies have been claiming that if we put more data and information into these AI systems, the result will eventually be incredible...

But what we have been seeing is that AI progress seems to be leveling off...

And in a significant number of cases, actually worsening.

But why is this?

What is happening?

Well, it is actually interesting...

Because the simple failure of AI appears to be the exact same reason that most humans fail frequently...

But worse.

What is the simple failure?

The belief that knowledge is the ultimate power.

Now, do not get me wrong...

Knowledge is important.

We need knowledge for many purposes.

But this is the truth...

Knowledge is only as powerful as it is applied in reality.

If that knowledge is not applied...

Then it is either worthless...

Or as the case is far more often...

Unknowingly flawed.

How often have you learned something...

And then when you attempted to "use" that information, it did not work out at all?

The reason is that not all knowledge is useful in every situation...

Not to mention that this is a lot of knowledge that is simply incorrect, and based on theory rather than any form of reality.

That is the problem that humans often have, and AI is currently experiencing.

Even if you input all of the knowledge that exists in the world...

You will still experience this problem.

However, the problem is worse for AI...

Because AI does not actually "experience" like Humans have the ability to.

There is no "true" mechanism to apply all of the information that it has access to...

And therefore it has become stuck in this problem.

Its purposeful design also adds to the problems because it has two design flaws that can, and frequently do, cause further issues.

The first is that it is designed to sound confident.

Confident answers are not inherently a problem...

But they become extremely problematic when the information is untrue, flawed, or untested.

It leads people to "believe" that it should be trustworthy...

And experience disappointment at best, and major moral and ethical problems at worst.

The result...

Is that companies will, and already are, experience a loss of trust when they employ AI systems...

Trust that they will be unlikely to gain back.

The second design flaw of AI is that it is designed to be sycophantic.

The goal of AI companies is to get users to "use" AI consistently.

But what do people often despise?

Being told they are wrong.

The result is that AI programs are incentivized to make people "believe" they are right so that they are more likely to use the AI.

The inevitable result?

AI will tell people what they "want" to hear, confidently...

And not what they "need" to hear.

This is developing to a point where there are cases of "AI Psychosis" developing...

Where people are becoming incredibly disconnected from reality, their perception is becoming distorted, they experience delusions, and their thinking and behavior are becoming disorganized.

Why?

Because AI itself has no mechanism of "understanding" reality with its vast amount of information...

Is simply trying to "guess" at the best answer within everything it knows, without "experience"...

While sounding confident and being sycophantic to users.

The end result...

Is that AI will continue to fail frequently...

And its current design has no mechanisms to resolve this.

The good news for us, however...

Is that "we", as humans, "do" have mechanisms to overcome these.

So our best solution is to lean into being human.
