Langtang Valley Trek: Summary The Langtang Valley trek is a scenic Himalayan trek in Nepal. It is located near Kathmandu. Actually, it begins north of Kathmandu, in the Rasuwa District. Moreover, Trekkers arrive at Langtang National Park via Syabrubesi having come from Kathmandu by road. In fact, the Kathmandu to Syabrubesi By Bus/Jeep takes 7-8 hours. The Langtang National park is home to red pandas, langurs, and Himalayan black bears. Comparatively, fewer international trekkers come here compared to more touristic trails like Annapurna and Everest. But its natural and cultural richness is no less. Meanwhile , Langtang Lirung (7,227 m) towers spectacularly above the Langtang valley. In fact, its glaciers feed many local rivers and waterfalls along the Langtang Trail. Trekkers usually start Langtang Valley Trek from Syabrubesi, which is at an altitude of 1,460 meters. Additionally, the trail gradually ascends through forests and Tamang villages. Meanwhile, Lama Hotel and Ghodatabela serve as a rest stop along the trail. Actually, Ghodatabela is at an altitude of 2,970 meters and marks the start of alpine terrain. Also, yak pastures become common from here onwards. In fact, Langtang village, at 3,430 meters, was terribly damaged in 2015 by the earthquake. Montréal, Strikes and Me
Here we go again... On June 2nd, the STM voted to go on strike for nine days, running from June 9th to the 17th. It will not be a total shutdown of the public transit system of my adopted hometown of Montréal, Quebec. Only certain hours of the day will see the buses and metro closed to the public, but still does not make it easier for the average commuter to plan their day-to-day activities...
