The Good Shepherd
The past 10 years have been crazy and full of changes. My dad went through multiple job transitions, one involving a move from our home state. That meant leaving behind friends. That meant the realization that many of those friendships were a farce. It also meant leaving behind my two older brothers, with whom I had a close relationship. It meant lots of traveling back and forth to visit family. It meant attending a new church. It meant trying to form new friendships during awkward growth pains in a new environment. Zen and the Art of Capitalism
Zen Capitalism is more than a mantra. Here's a brief history: Zen was formalized in China during the Tang Dynasty, but the roots of the practice go back much further. Some scholars believe that the roots of Zen can be traced all the way back to the Buddha himself. Others believe that the practice developed out of a need to synthesize the various strands of Buddhism that were being practiced in China at the time. In any case, the formalization of Zen in China was a pivotal moment in the history of the religion.
