Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds.
Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds. Hello, friends! On the 16th of July 1945, around 5:30 in the morning, in the deserts of America's state New Mexico, a bomb exploded. But this was not a normal bomb explosion. This was the first time a nuclear bomb was being tested. As the countdown began—5, 4, 3, 2, 1!—this nuclear test, codenamed Trinity, marked a significant moment in history. Leading this project was scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer. The explosion was far more powerful than anticipated, resulting in a blast 50 times more dangerous than expected, equivalent to 15-20 kilotons of TNT. This event gave rise to a quote uttered by Oppenheimer himself, drawn from the Bhagavad Gita: "Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds."
