Embarrassing Tales of a Ride-Share Driver
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a ride share driver? I did, and despite being someone who generally does not like being around too many people, I gave it a shot. I have had many good experiences and bad. So lets kick this off with the bad.

Resume. An Expose
That damn resume. I hear all versions. You haunt me. You track me and you hurt me. I want to go HOME. The resume doesn't say much about me or anyone else as a human being, a living breathing emotional non-mechanical whatever who is more than just a brain and a nice body. or a mature woman with an agile mind?

Story 2: The Breaths
Up. Down. Around. Up. Down. Around. “Your feet need to be pointed when they are not on the ground. This is not elementary level. You will perform well, or you will not make it”. Words spoken by the one and only Cynthia Conley. My raw talent got me my career during my time at The Academy of the Arts in Illinois. I dedicate this speech to stubborn old Conley, her meter stick, and to the academy students that doubted me. I became the best, because she was the only one who never just allowed me to quit. The stubbornness, embarrassment, and the talk were all worth it.

Banned from Existence
When I become aware of my surroundings, the first thing I feel is a hard surface pressing against my back. My eyes are still closed, but I can see light through my shut eyelids. It must be pretty bright wherever, I think. I slowly open my eyes to look around me. I;m not sure if it’s what I want to do quite yet, but everything is silent around me, so listening isn’t telling me anything. Ehh I open my eyes,, I’m temporarily blinded by the fluorescent lights above me. After a few seconds, my eyes adjust enough to see the room around me. I’m laying in the middle of a blank, empty white room that stretches into all directions as far as I can see.

Bi-son
When I lived on our farm we had all sorts of creatures running around. From litters of kittens, cats we saved from run down buildings; goslings whom were abandoned on the pond, to my beautiful bison, who's mother passed away while giving birth. I’ll never forget the call I received from my step-dad, “Would you like to come mother this baby buffalo?” I was living in the city at the time, so it was a big commitment to just drop everything and move back home. But, it was also the chance of a life time.

Writing
During the summer of 2019 I began to write again. Largely fiction because you can do whatever you want in your world. There is something therapeutic and calming about that fact. No one can discourage you or tell you that what you are writing about is “stupid,” “silly,” or “unimportant.” Writing again became a passion when I took a creative writing class in my final semester of community college (spring 2019). When I was younger, I had always been loosely interested in writing, but I did not know enough about the basics to get started. After the completion of this class, I not only felt empowered to begin writing my own material, but I realized that it helped me in bringing out emotions that I had been suppressing for a long time. Therefore, I am not exaggerating when I say that writing has done so much for me, so I am forever grateful.

every three days
Sunday - March 21, 2021 Today my main goal was to relax and take it easy. Although puppy therapy is the best, and I mean THE BEST, sometimes it’s a lot of work when I just don't have the energy to do anything. I’ve been a little overwhelmed lately with my emotions, my job, and my brain and getting to spend the day without a lot of that stress was the first sigh of relief that I have had in... a long time.
