Pharma-llama-land... and Beyond
People ask me what I do for my "job-job" and the moment "Pharmaceutical copywriter" leaves my lips, I am usually greeted with a dubious smirk and a "Oh...big pharma?" Yeah, we know there's a bad side. But, that's not what I do. I actually get to help people every single day with the words I write.

A Part of History
“You are all a part of history. You should be proud to tell your children and grandchildren about all you’ve done here.” Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, I worked as a graphic designer for a New York real estate developer. Shortly after the pandemic began, the company took a financial hit, and they furloughed me.

A Painter's Life
I wake up in the early mornings when it is quiet and the day hasn’t quite started, and I simply observe the shadows of my bedroom. If I actually venture outside, then I take in the fog and/or early sunlight. I shiver in the chill or sweat as the temperature rises. When it is night time, I observe the clouds, stars, and sometimes the firelight of the fire pit that my husband has lit. I enjoy the warmth but not the mosquitoes as they bite. For me, these are the times to have my cell phone so I can take pictures of the atmosphere for when I attempt to grab that feeling when I am painting. That wondrous feeling of living in a moment of perfection.

The Most Important Job I've Ever Had
A Tall Order In 2014, I helped inspect the concrete for the largest continuous concrete pour in the world--at least it was when it was completed. I believe the record has been broken more than once since then. I was working as a special inspector in the construction industry at that time. It was my job to ensure that all of the concrete leaving the batching plant I was in charge of met the requirements of the project. I had to monitor the amount of water added and ensure that the inspectors at the building site were aware of how much water they were allowed to add without exceeding the allowable amount.

I'm On My Way to Becoming a Storyteller
In college, I studied Film and Digital Media. I graduated with a whole lot of debt and even more confusion about what to do next. A year later, here I am, working as a freelance videographer. It kind of just happened. I graduated at the height of the pandemic, when very few companies were hiring, and my efforts to secure a job were not paying off. I knew I needed to start making money, and I knew I had a skill that some people, who I could meet via the internet, would find valuable: video editing. I managed to secure a short term gig with the help of Upwork.com. That client referred me to another client, which led me to start making a full time income from freelance video editing.

From Chef to Behavior Tech
I am one of those people that had to go through a BIG career change to find themselves finally happy in their life. I say life, and not work, because we all know what a huge toll our jobs take on our personal life and there are a lot of us that can't seem to find a healthy balance between the two. Before revealing the nature of my current job and my feelings about it, it is important to mention the career I come from.

I love my job because.......
NO! That is not me. That is just how I feel sometimes. When things get really overwhelming, and I want to get lost in fantasy. Kind of like I am the one out there saving the world. Or I am making a movie, and I am the good bad guy ready to save the world.

Fancy Office Furniture
I love my job because, it enables me to contribute to something bigger than myself. I work as an office furniture installation manager, which means, various customers will hire my crew and I to put together desks, file cabinets and many other varieties of office equipment. I have had the pleasure of installing some beautiful natural wood pieces, and some high-tech file cabinets called, "High density storage" units.
