In Indian cinema, objectifying and sexualizing women has always been the norm rather than the exception. The film industry still promotes misogyny, patriarchy, and gender inequality despite the nation's quick social and economic advancement. In this article, I dive deeper into the normalization of misogyny, patriarchal mindsets and crime against women in various Indian films and how toxic it is to portray this as an acceptable standard.
