Everyone Deserves Something Beautiful
Our minds have a funny way of convincing us that we are less than. Mine is particularly good at whispering “You aren’t good enough,” on a daily basis. My journey to a successful career has been blocked by negative thoughts, actions, and feelings. I always wanted to be something great, something more than I was, something better. Alas, that little voice inside my head has never let up, telling me “no way.” I find it interesting, though, that I’ve always tried to pull myself away from that voice. I’ve taken many roads on my career path, all of which have ultimately failed. I have fallen several times only to stand up, brush myself off and open yet another door, always wondering “Is this the one?” It never was.

The Art of Independence
There are a significant number of work from home opportunities in the form of customer service jobs. Some of the companies that have pioneered the process may not sound familiar, but in recent years the trend has caught on. In fact, there are some very established companies that hire people to do certain aspects of customer service work from home. They include big names like Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft. The type of work can sometimes differ, but again, it usually comes down to answering calls from a laptop or PC and helping customers. The pay for these jobs starts around 10/hr. Some will pay more and almost all of them will offer a decent number of hours; 25-60 depending on the company and the specific position.

What Will You Do with Your First Million?
Firstly, your issue has nothing whatsoever to do with earning a million dollars. The real issue is between your ears. The money is out there, and remains out there despite your difficulties with bills, and other financial obligations. Some of you well know those scenarios, I’m sure. I certainly do; most of us have had them. But the rest of the world doesn’t care. They’re busy earning a living. But you ... your cellphone is threatened with disconnection, the power is about to be turned off, you’re late on your car payment ...

Flight Attendant Recruitment Process
Back in July 2017, I finally plucked the courage to apply for my dream occupation of being a member of cabin crew. I have studied the subject in depth for 4 years, I have 6 A levels all within the travel industry. It’s a passion of mine, I honestly find it fascinating.

So You Want to Be a Film Director?
I’ve spent the past 20 years making a living (occasionally lucrative, often precarious, seldom steady, largely rewarding) directing films. In the main, I've enjoyed a career I know I am very fortunate to have and I've travelled the world—from the North Pole to Saudi Arabia, from Kenya to Brazil. It has seldom been plain sailing, and at times I have navigated stormy waters, struggling to remember why I chose this ridiculous life, convinced that I’ll never work again or be able to feed my children. I’ve nearly frozen to death filming an expedition in the Arctic, nearly boiled my blood in the Arabian desert, seen the back seat propelled from a helicopter in which I was filming high above the Nigerian Delta and negotiated with the head-honcho in Rio de Janeiro favela. And throughout, I've worked with some of the most wonderful and some of the most trying people known to man.

The Year that Kohl's Saved Christmas
2017 was a bit of a rocky year and the turbulence hit a frenzied level when I lost my job at the beginning of May. What followed was five months of struggle—collecting unemployment, a small part-time “consulting” type gig that was inconsistent at best and the fear that at age 53, my best years as a marketing professional were behind me.

Best Careers for Former Teachers to Seek Out
Being a teacher is an honorable pursuit, but let's be real—there's a reason why there are so many people who end up switching jobs after getting a Bachelor's degree in Education. The system is stacked against teachers on every side; students are difficult, parents complain if their kids fail, and the administration generally doesn't care.
