Applying for Jobs After College
So you spend most of your high school career trying to sound fancy to get into college; writing essays, going on tours, keeping up grades, being the best sport player. When you find the right school you spend the summer before figuring out how you’re going to pay for it, so you get a summer job, committed to get a job during school as well. You study and you work and make friends, have memories to tell your kids, and the next thing you know you’re walking the stage with a diploma with a degree that you’re not even sure you want anymore. You want the degree, just not in the field that you want, probably.

The Impact of a Leave Notice
Hello again, everyone! At a previous job, I got let go from a position due to a two-week notice, and that left me feeling bewildered and betrayed. What’s bad is that it wasn’t the manager to whom I gave the notice that let me go. She understood my situation. It was another manager that found out about it the next day that called my recruiters and told them to tell me not to come back.

Non-Profit Job Descriptions
Somebody in charge will be the president, I will be the Vice President or whatever title I can come up with that suits the sort of job description needed. I need to have a consultant, a staff psychiatrist, (maybe because I’m not sure of this one just yet), a staff attorney, (this I know we need), and staff administrative assistant. It’d be cool to get a staff paralegal I can pay well as we all need salaries brought about by donations depending on how far I can push someone twice my size. I also need an experienced public relations person.

I Spent a Year Working at an Outdoor Garden Center
This past year I had decided to get a part-time job. While I absolutely love writing, I was turning into a severe homebody who had poor social skills. It was as if the more time I spent alone, the more my conversation skills started to deplete. I was also suffering from severe cabin fever and getting aches and pains associated with sitting at a desk all day long. I could have just went for a run each day and forced myself to talk with a local barista, but a job seemed to be the right fit for me.

My Ability to Read Thoughts
If all else fails, as I got a bunch of job rejection emails today. I feel screwed over yet again, wondering if I will ever get a real job. I feel down about my job situation only because I haven’t found the right fit. I could get an insurance license if I had $200 to pay for that. But until I do, I haven’t necessarily taken the time. Yes, my astrology chart does detail that I should work as a professional psychic. I feel weird asking for money because of that though. I mean I want to be a free healer but asking for money is weird for me. A tele-empath is the same thing as a psychic only more specific.

Unemployment - First Timer
Today I’m making a change. I’m walking away from my General Manager position—a position that has taken over my life these past seven months. I have worked 70-hour work weeks, six days a week, on and off for eight months. A cellphone glued to my hand even on my days off, constantly checking emails, calls, schedule requests, or text messages from employees. Even during family days, 3,000 miles away for a girl's weekend trip, my parents coming to visit for a few days, etc. Managing over 70 employees, four managers, vendors, partnerships, events, and so on.
