Hello, my name is Anthony Ivan Solorzano Mora. I participated in an internship with Latimer Heights. The reason I was able to partake in this internship was because of Jacob Riis. They worked hard to get us to work over the summer throughout this catastrophe. We all know it by COVID19. Well enough of that because of Riis, I was able to learn and earn this summer and not just waste time. I’ve been able to learn Python and Javascript throughout this summer. While preparing for college, I was able to keep my brain active.

We used a couple of websites this summer. One of them was repl.it, which allowed us to code using python. On this website, we did projects and our learning of python. We made a movie ticket system, but in the end, we added more into it. The task to create a menu for it. We also learned how to make lists, the use for a randomisation app or something of that sort. I built it to give me a menu for the day, meaning what to eat for breakfast, lunch and, dinner. The use can vary, an exercise planner, a song list maker, a song list picker, a well this is the things I can think of at the moment yet I am sure there are more. Our last project for python was making a calculator based on specific instruction. The purpose of the project was to learn how to build an equation with code.

Another website used was p5.js its use is Javascript. We learn Javascript by remixing code already made and edit it to our liking. For example, our first project was to remix a website make it so we could add the projects that we have done. Well not at the time but for now a few weeks into programming. We were able to make a changing frequency program that also changes colours based on where the mouse is on the preview. The way it works, we make the mouseX equal a number from 0 to the end of the border of the window preview. Then repeat for mouseY this allows us the full window preview and change it by using RGB colours. The frequency works the same way except that we set a set beginning and end. We were creating the sound frequency in between two specific values—another project we did shapes and how the code reads and places the 2D shapes.

Lastly, I feel like coding is kind of fun since there are codes that allow you to give meaning to objects. Let’s say AI it can be something amazing that people can benefit from, but there are always people who want to “hack the system” meaning they want to get away with things, or literally hack the system. To gain a step higher than others, or to use in wrong ways.
