Putting wings on failure
Putting wings on failure
A man who has no sense of music and can't even read music can play thirteen instruments, including piano, violin, thumb piano and guitar. This "special" skill is not a "musical genius", but a "disabled" person who had suffered from a severe concussion.
Connors was born in an ordinary family in Denver, Colorado, USA. He grew up as an active, sporty person who loved to play all kinds of competitive sports, especially when he saw a field hockey game, his eyes were always full of longing, and he dreamed of becoming a professional field hockey player.
To get closer to his dream, Connors spends a lot of time practicing field hockey every day. To do so, he often left himself bruised and exhausted, but the thought that his dream was just around the corner filled him with fighting spirit again. However, during a game, he fell and landed hard on his head, and as a result, he was diagnosed with a concussion. From then on, he had to give up his beloved field hockey.
Faced with a double blow, Connors was devastated. He was no longer the dreamer who could give everything to his dream, and his life fell from the clouds to the bottom at once. However, another "accident" not only rescued him from the doldrums, but also lit up another light for him to illuminate his dream again.
One day, sitting in front of the piano, forlorn and dazed, Connors inadvertently touched the keyboard with his fingers. He didn't expect to be able to play a tune with a different flavor. This not only made him ecstatic, but also brought a ray of hope to his bleak life. At this moment, he decided to find another path to his dream.
So, he began to study the music that he regarded as a "heavenly book". Often, a simple note was so difficult for Connors that he had to repeat it over and over again to memorize it. Sometimes, he had to re-familiarize himself with the music again as he forgot almost all of it in the blink of an eye. Connors didn't back down, he took on the spirit of field hockey practice and never gave up in the face of difficulties.
Connors also took the initiative to learn various instruments. Sometimes, Connors even had to practice hundreds of times to play a complete tune. At this time, his hands, which were already rough, were tormented by himself, but he did not feel hard, but enjoyed it.
It was with this persistent energy that Connors mastered the way to play thirteen instruments. The ordinary tunes were brought to life by Connors' interpretation, and they sounded beautiful.
Gradually, Connors developed another kind of emotion towards music, which not only successfully helped Connors get rid of his gloom, but also made him experience a kind of unprecedented happiness and satisfaction from it. I'm grateful for the accident that kept me from becoming a field hockey player, but it taught me to give up," he says. Sometimes, giving up doesn't mean failure, it's just building up energy for the next gorgeous turnaround, and when that energy reaches a certain level, it's bound to bring unexpected success."
As the saying goes: there is no defeated warrior, only a coward who is intimidated. Failure for people with courage, is undoubtedly a stepping stone, will help it closer to success; for the timid people, is an insurmountable chasm, and ultimately, will be its dream cut off. Give failure a pair of wings, it will be able to take people to any hope to reach the height. Thus, giving up may seem like a failure, but it is the closest thing to a perfect success. For Connors, a failure was a stepping stone to his future success.
