Before I start, this article is not meant to be a long-winded and whiny manifesto or to put down anybody but rather a way of expressing my dissatisfaction and the daily stagnancy of my current situation;(which I am trying to fix.) I am not writing this to back and analyse how miserable I was. I always say that one day, I will look back and laugh at my past situation, but I never do and choose to forget about some circumstances. Cancel and carry on, as Kiera Knightley seems like a proper British way of saying pull yourself together and don't look back. Without further ado, here is a list of things that irritate me.
1. Having to share a flat with strangers, a dog, and a crying baby.
2. Not being able to control my surroundings.
3. Invasion of privacy, I am renting a cluttered room without a lock, desk, and chair( I am working on getting out of here and finding a room with a lock and key).
4. Learning that fixing my toe with a laser treatment would cost me 40€ for several sessions.
5. The podiatrist that treated me like an idiot, wouldn't listen to me, wanted to take my money, and cut my toe up to fix a problem that requires no surgery.
6. The podiatrist refused to believe when I told him that health insurance and higher education is unaffordable in the US. Comparing a 2,000€ a month health insurance( which I doubt exists)to the health care system. And an 850€ or a little bit, more Spanish degree to a $50,000+ American education.
7. Expensive medical services. I paid 700€ for medical insurance that does not cover dental crown replacements.
8. Beurocracy.
9. Paying 260€ a month to work as a freelancer.
10.That peanut butter tastes horrible in Spain. It has no flavour.
11. Missing deadlines.
12. Not having a job yet, I have been job-hunting since January of this year; and have applied to more that 540 places.
13. Instability.
14. Not being econimically stable and not working in my field of interest.
15. Spaniards who always ask me where I am from despite being Spanish. Having a different skin colour is not an excuse to be ignorant and racist.
16. Spaniards who think all black people are related.
17.Toxic positivity.
18. Summer. The Weather in Spain right now is 38 Celsious, which is around 98,7 Fahrenheit.
Things I like:
1. Reading.
2. Writing.
3. Getting sorted and taking action.
4. Controling the odour of my spaces without toxic products.
5. Not sharing a fridge with meat eaters.
6. Taking more responsability.
7.Travelling within the European Union for two days and not worrying that my roommate steals from me. She has the habit of opening others and going through her roomates belongings when they are out.
8. Not divulging my plans of action, not everyone wants you to succeed and those who call themselves your friends, and never check to see if you are okay. Only want to use you.
9. Possitivite affirmations. Learning that whatever negative thought that's you have about yourself, regarding self-worth related to being uneployed, etc is not true.
10. Not settling for less.
I hope you enjoy this short and sweet post about me, and please bear in mind that english is my second language out of four. So there might be some typos, that Grammarly won't fix.
