Strategies

Coming from being taught one thing for a whole entire 20+ years of going to a college, earning a degree, to having that "job" is obsolete now a days due to the fact that equation for a person, does not equate to job security. Now a days post 2020, where that parent (whoever decides to work), has many challenges to bring home the necessary income to be able for both short-term and long term sustainment. This life in itself is so dynamic, that the information that a person get's right now, is obsolete. What can a person do exactly? Here is what I have came up with several ways of enduring the financial pressures of the upcoming futures. These are just my opinions in the matter.

So I will take my own current situation of where I have been and where I think that I am going in my life, I am a U.S. Marine veteran, that is a single father of a (right now a 6 year old going to be 7), girl. I am unable to "work" due to my injuries from the Marine Corps, and especially the last "opportunity" where I got injured on the job. So I will explain, what had happened.

On June 4th, 2018 I was currently working at that time for a company called Capstone Logistics for the Fred Meyer Distribution Center in Puyallup, WA. That night I was on my break and as soon as I was just getting to put my stuff away a really big forklift carrying 10 pallets (unsecured), but he went around the corner really fast, knocking all of the 10 pallets to the ground, and out of those 10; 2 of them simultaneously hit my left ankle, which made me fall on the floor facing up..(but I had a similar experience when I fell 30 feet in boot camp in 2008), but going back to this injury...

A lot of the workers that both saw and heard this, rushed over to see what had happened, and a few of my colleagues that I worked with as well told me to stay down you've been hit..

My supervisor just rushed out of the break room, to see what had happened and she was astounded that me (being one of the hardest workers, just got hurt), so she rushed over and to see what the extent of the injuries were to notice that I had just was there in agonizing pain, and she had said that the ambulance was on the way.

So she had accompanied myself to the Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup for a actual diagnosis from a medical provider and to start paperwork for a workers compensation (and that is when my supervisor's boss came), so I was already not in a happy and cheerful state of mind(go figure).

I had a talk with him, and he had agreed upon that this is a urgent need of medical assistance to be taken in action. I have already knew that I was in for a really rough night, but I was cool, calm, and collective. Trying to get this paperwork to be submitted to workers compensation as soon as possible. I however knew that this was going to be a long time to recover from. So how does this even try to equate to job security?? It doesn't.

But while being able to think and ponder on how to get to where I need to be, I have to able to learn from these previous issues, but also to adopt a way to bring a way of helping other's to not choose to go through what I have had to do. My ending point is that, if someone really want's job security, that person has to make and to decide on how to do that, because there is no more loyalties to the employers anymore.
