The Thoughts and Times of Scott A. Vancil

I wake up in a lot of pain and can barely open my eyes from my meds.

I take an extra strength Tylenol and brew some Bones Coffee Co. Mustachio Coffee in my mustache mug.

I sip and enjoy a quiet morning with Shelby.

Then I reheat my vegan Annihilator pizza from Garage Pizza.

I feast.

I do the dishes, listening to Folk Arc playlist on Spotify.

Then I shower with Bourbon, 2-n-1, Head and Shoulders, Shampoo/Conditioner. Then I lather myself with Duke Cannon Buffalo Trace Bourbon Soap and rinse. I then smother myself with body wash: Duke Canon THICK Bourbon Bodywash. After rinsing I rinse my hair. Then I use my Duke Cannon Buffalo Trace Bourbon Plant-Based Beard Wash. I rinse. I dry and comb my red beard with its elegant white streaks.

I put on Axe Apollo Fresh Stick, because they were out of Phoenix.

I listen to the Folk Arc playlist again on Spotify.

I heat filtered, water to 180 Degrees Fahrenheit in my black, Fellow EKG Gooseneck Kettle and steep two teaspoons of Japanese Genmaicha Green Tea for four minutes in my Mike Wazowski mug. I purchased the tea at The Tea Table online. I highly recommend them.

I watch two episodes of The Whiskey Vault on YouTube. I'm finally all caught up.

I put in Big Bourbon Beard Balm and put on Bourbon Cologne Balm.

I'm having a lot of pain so, after I finish my tea, I lie down and listen to various Caroline Spence albums.

I get up and take three ibuprofen then brew another Mustachio coffee.

I listen to a few R.E.M. songs and then Metallica's, 'Kill 'Em All.'

Then I pour a glencairn of Ardbeg 5 Wee Beastie Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

We watch more episodes of Sex Education.

I reheat two more slices of pizza.

We finish another episode of Sex Education, finishing the season (Season 2).

I pour another scotch, and Shelby and I watch The Rocker on HBO Max.

Then I go to bed.

This night is even worse. I am terrified I won't wake up in the morning. I don't want to die. That article about cancer freaked me out. 35% chance of living one year after it hits your bones, and it most likely has. I just want to go to my doctor's appointment already, but it's not for another week. The pain gets worse every day. I'm really worried. I don't want to worry Shelby, but I want to talk to her about this. I love her so much. I wanted to grow old together. How could my life just end after all this suffering and pain, with me accomplishing absolutely nothing in my life. I had so many dreams, but now there's just too little time. I know I'm jumping the gun. My doctor's appointment is still a week away. I want to know now. I need to.

We cuddle for awhile, and then I finally drift off. It's going to be an early morning for laundry tomorrow.

And that's it.

That's my day.
