How to earn money from blogging

A lot of people are looking for ways to make money online from their blogs and start a content marketing business so they can make more than enough income each month to pay the bills. Not surprisingly, you don’t need a ton of extra cash flow to get started on your blog. You don’t need it if you have a strong focus on creating great content that customers will love, but a little bit of sweat equity is always welcome as well.

Your blog can be one of the best sources of passive income you’ll ever earn online. I know this because it’s true. So why aren’t there enough bloggers out there making decent income? Here are some tips to help you build some pocket change on your blog without going broke.

Build an Email List with Paid Google Ads:

Google has been around since 1998 when Ad Words became available. That means there’s plenty of experience in building email lists, so let this guide help you to do everything right. It takes about 3-6 months to grow an email list, and once you have one set up, you don’t need to do much work to market the site through ads. Use these tips to help grow your email list, too.

Create Content Marketing Strategy:

What should your content marketing strategy be? It depends on where your blog is, what your goals are, and how much traffic you can generate. But you want to give yourself time to create a solid plan. There’s no one-size answer of course, so take a look here.

Make sure you know what works best for your blogging audience. This might vary across different industries depending on who writes there. For instance, if you’re writing for health and fitness you probably aren’t going to write long blog posts on nutrition or weight loss. In that case, don’t buy into buying the latest diet pill. Instead, put money aside for long-form articles that explain the benefits of good nutrition. If it’s running shoes, your goal probably isn’t to sell one pair of socks by the end of the year. Don’t worry. Your readers are going to stay loyal – they just want to know what is out there. Make sure not to overdo things on your blog, though. Go at your own pace.

Choose which blog posts to post – that’s something every blogger struggles with at some point or another. Personally, my blog is very personal and doesn’t allow me to publish just any kind of personal content. However, most webmasters are very strict about choosing which blogs to show their audience, so consider it carefully.

Have a Plan B:

Having a backup plan in place is important to have a smooth transition into starting an affiliate website. Luckily, there are plenty of choices that offer the best value for their fees:

Amazon Drops: These are Amazon affiliates who promote products via Amazon that would normally cost $10 (or less) each way, but for those who don’t want to go head to them, using our code link below gets you access to 10% off your first order. Click here. LinkShare/Wix: Many writers who use both methods can still find some affiliate commissions by linking to product pages on both platforms. Click here. online/Mediavine: Both platforms offer discounts, coupons, and ebooks that pay for the whole subscription. Click here. Check out these sites and see whether or not these options are worth joining.

You may need to find a few different alternatives. While you could choose to write your content or take advantage of others who already wrote it, it makes sense to learn how to monetize your blog. The easiest way is to generate some side income while also selling your books and courses.
