Microsoft Power Platform Implementation

The Microsoft Power Platform Implementation consist of four robotic components, namely Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate and Power virtual agent. It is a powerful platform that can create an app, customize it, analyze data through visualization and can automate the process as per your business needs. Power Platform is hosted on safe and secure Azure cloud-platform.

Advantages of using Power Apps:

  1. A powerful tool by Microsoft to develop custom applications by leveraging many of the features of Dynamics 365, Office 365 and other standalone applications.
  2. Ability to connect to hundreds of data sources like Excel, Office 365, SharePoint, SQL server, Google calendar, Planner, Teams, Gmail to name a few using a library of connectors and Common Data Service to bring all your data together at one platform.
  3. Moreover, it is completely safe and secure to use as it is built on Azure Cloud Services.
  4. It is easy to make apps using Power Apps as it provides pre-built templates, drag-and-drop simplicity and quick deployment.
  5. Additionally, it provides professional developers the tools to extend their app capabilities using Azure functions and can also create custom connectors to use data sources as per the needs.

Advantages of Power BI

  1. Create and share interactive data visualizations across global datacenters, including national clouds to meet your compliance and regulation needs
  2. Unify self-service and enterprise analytics. Meet both your self-service and enterprise data analytics needs on a single platform. Access powerful semantic models, an application lifecycle management (ALM) toolkit, an open connectivity framework, and fixed-layout, pixel-perfect paginated reports
  3. Find answers fast with industry-leading AI. Take advantage of the latest advances in Microsoft AI to help non-data scientists prepare data, build machine learning models, and find insights quickly from both structured and unstructured data, including text and images.
  4. Microsoft Power Platform Implementation Improve publishing efficiency and accuracy of BI content. Quickly identify differences and move content from development and testing to production with confidence using the simple visual cues in deployment pipelines
  5. Get unparalleled Excel integration. Anyone who’s familiar with Office 365 can easily connect Excel queries, data models, and reports to Power BI Dashboards—helping to quickly gather, analyze, publish, and share Excel business data in new ways.

Advantages of Power Automate

  1. Power Automate only supports sequential workflows (A to B to C). That means you cannot go back a step in a workflow process. Loops can be used as a workaround, but this requires additional work.
  2. You can only use 250 actions per workflow. That may sound like a lot at first – but with many loops you can quickly reach this limit.
  3. Your workflow instances are backed up and saved only for 30 days. Although Microsoft is already working on raising the limit to 90 days soon. But still, it might not be sufficient for business-critical processes such as compliance, and audit trails etc.
  4. Power Automate is not suitable for long-lasting workflows because they can run without warning.
  5. A workflow cannot be changed, one you run it with the help of Microsoft Power Platform Implementation.
  6. Forms Customizations are not available. For this reason, Power Automate is typically combined with Microsoft PowerApps, but this also increases the costs.
  7. More complex business scenarios may not be feasible because certain functions are missing, or special knowledge such as WDL, creation of JSON files and the like are missing.
  8. Licensing can be difficult to control, especially when several employees in the company create workflows while using Power Automate.
