Getting Organized!

My Two Favorite Ways To Do It!

By Kenneth WatkinsPublished 6 years ago 3 min read

I know one of the toughest things for me to do is stay on track in my business and personal life. Trying to remember everything I need to do or remember as I've gotten older has been real tough. I needed to create some kind of system or use something to help me remember important things. This is about the things that have worked for me on a daily basis and I continue to use to this day. Some will work for you some won't that's okay not everything I use is for everybody!

The first thing I used is an item called the Boogie Board. This is a board that comes with a pen that you can write various things on to remember from that day or just for the moment. I have the Boogie Blackboard, which is the biggest one they sell. I love the added space it provides. Just write things down and I'm ready to roll for the day.

Many people ask me what happens if it gets erased accidentally. That is not a problem with this board as it has a locking feature on it. It also comes with a replaceable battery so you can use it forever. The one thing I love is it has an app that lets you capture your boogie board screen and save it to your smartphone. That means you can save whatever you write for a later date. I love this board and use it on a daily basis in everyday life as well.

Secondly, I would never be able to stay on track if it was not for google tasks as well. This is an app you can download to your smartphone that lets you add tasks and other things. I have an Android phone and it works great for me for a number of reasons. I love that I can things right from my phone without opening an app.

Since the app is on my phone I can send websites I visit to it as well as emails I want to look over closer. This is done with the sharing feature. The app works really well and I hope Google never gets rid of it. The time I save with this app is invaluable. It helps eliminate clutter in my email inbox as well. I use this app on a daily basis to help me stay connected as well as getting more done.

The Google Tasks app is also very streamlined and easy to do. You do not need a degree to figure it out either. Some of these apps are so tough and in today's world, I just do not have time to figure it out. I need simple, easy working apps and google tasks does that for me.

I found the key to staying organized is consistency. You have to keep doing the same things over and over again. Consistency is the key to productivity and this little system works well for me. Hopefully it will help someone else become more productive. As with anything this may work for you it may not. We all are different and there are no right or wrong ways to stay productive.

Remember to get organized you must start somewhere. Never say you will do it tomorrow as most of the time that will never happen. Putting off things just puts you further behind. Once you get a few things that work for you keep on tweaking them. I do not think there is a perfect system, but use what works best for you. Hope in some small ways some of my ideas helped you out.
