Introduction
Writing an engaging blog post introduction can help your blog get more traffic and readers. But what does that mean? Well, let me explain with an example:
Write an engaging blog post introduction.
The first thing that you'll want to do is write the introduction. This is where you'll get your reader's attention by introducing them to what the blog post will be about and why they should care. You can use any of the following:
- A question (What's this? Why should I read this?)
- A quote (Whose words are these?)
- A story/anecdote (Hey, listen to me tell a story about something)
You may also want to include statistics or facts that support your point in order for your readers not just hear what you have to say but also see some proof behind it!
Don't be a boring jerk.
This is the most important one and it's also the easiest to do. The first line of your blog post should not be "Hey, look at me! I wrote this article." It should be "Here's what happened this week..." or something like that.
You want to grab your reader's attention right away so they'll keep reading past the first few sentences, but if you don't have anything interesting or compelling to say, they won't stick around long enough for you to get through all those words (or worse yet: click another link).
Avoid jargon and filler words like "empowering" or "revolutionary."
They're unnecessary and will only make readers yawns instead of gasps when they read them in an article about...what was it again? Oh yes: empowering yourself via online courses on how better manage your career goals?
Or maybe it was revolutionary new technology that helped improve productivity across industries by providing faster access to data across multiple platforms through cloud-based collaboration tools?
Yeah whatever that means--it doesn't matter because neither word is part of any real conversation anyone would actually have with someone else who might also use these terms (unless maybe they were talking about themselves too much).
In short: avoid boring jargons!
Tell your reader why they should read your post.
Give the reader a reason to care about what you are saying, and how it will help them.
Don't just tell them to read your post, show them why they should be interested in that content.
Focus on the topic, not jargon or filler words.
If you're writing an introduction, the most important thing is to focus on the topic. Don't be afraid to tell your reader what you're going to say, or even use short sentences if it helps drive home your point.
Also keep in mind that this section of your blog post should be short enough so as not to lose readers along the way (and have them go elsewhere).
Go beyond the obvious (or imitate).
You can't just say what you are going to say. You have to go beyond the obvious and make your blog post stand out from the crowd.
If this is your first time writing a blog post introduction, don't worry!
It's not rocket science--it's just a matter of knowing what works best in each circumstance and then executing on that plan with confidence.

The introduction is the first paragraph of your article, and it's where you establish your voice. If it's boring, no one will read it. If it's a jerk (like me), then they'll turn off immediately and never come back.
The goal is to make sure that people know what they are getting into before they click on your blog post title or link in Facebook or Twitter.
You have to hook them right away with an intriguing hook like "The secret to happiness is..." or "How I became ____," etc.,
So they don't get bored with reading just another boring blog post by some random person who doesn't know how to write engaging introductions!
Conclusion
Now that you have a better understanding of what makes an engaging blog post introduction, let’s look at some examples so you can see how well your own work measures up.
