Social Resistance to Destroying Atheist and Islamophobic Ideologies: A Thought-Based Approach
In most civilizations and cultures of the world, religion is considered the center of society. Religion is not just the name of spiritual practice; rather, it is the foundation of morality, order, social order, and human thought. Islam in its entirety is a complete way of life, under whose shadow people find the path to justice, peace, purity, and self-respect. But sadly, in the modern era, a group of so-called “intellectual” atheists, in particular, are constantly attacking this Islam. They do not stop at just opposing religion; rather, they want to eradicate Islam and the faith of Muslims from society. Their main goal is to make Islam a symbol of hatred and make Muslim identity socially “shameful.”
These Islamophobic atheists have certain characteristics in their ideology: they present themselves as rational, scientific, and open-minded, but in reality they are extremely biased, skilled in spreading misinformation, and extremely hostile to faith and Islam. They use social media to create suspicion, hatred, and ridicule of Islam in the minds of young people. They ridicule the sacred practices of Islam, mock the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and mislead young people by distorting the Hadith and Sharia.
But the question is—how are these ideologies gaining ground in society?
First, they present themselves in the guise of “modernity” and “free thinking.” As a result, those who do not know much about religion are influenced by their words. Second, the media and Western politics indirectly support this anti-religious version of atheism. YouTube, Facebook, Instagram—these platforms have certain algorithmic support for spreading anti-Islamic statements, so that their content goes viral, but knowledge-based content in favor of Islam is suppressed.
Third, our internal weaknesses—especially among Muslim youth, lack of basic knowledge of Islam, lack of confidence, seeing religion as just a formality—make the work of these atheists easier. They want to create a generation that does not know or love their religion, but rather doubts, is embarrassed and wants to abandon it.
In this situation, this ideological aggression cannot be confronted with emotions alone. Rather, well-planned, intellectual, cultural and social resistance is needed. We need to make this ideology ‘unacceptable’ socially—just as racism, misogyny, and Nazism are not acceptable in society today.
Below are some effective steps that can be taken for this task:
1. Propagating Islam based on reason: The fact that Islam is not just a belief, but a rational, just, scientific and historically based way of life must be presented to the youth in simple, clear and informative language. They must be told the glory of the Quran, Sirah and Islamic civilization.
2. Dawah in media and culture: The beauty, morality and logic of Islam must be presented through art, cinema, drama, YouTube videos, animation in a way that can reach the hearts of the youth. At the same time, Islamophobic propaganda must be destroyed through satire, research and evidence.
3. Exposing the intellectual disability of atheist philosophy: It must be promoted how the “freedom” that atheists talk about is limited only to anti-Islamism, while they hypocritically treat other religions, races, genders, etc. Their internal contradictions, lack of morality and bankruptcy of thought must be clearly presented to the society.
4. Organization and united movement: Nothing can be done alone. We need writers, speakers, technologists, producers, translators, lawyers—a united front that will continue this ideological war without any discrimination.
5. Reforms in the education system: The basic knowledge of Islam, scientific explanations, and the practical application of the Prophet's life must be highlighted at the school and college levels. Arrangements must be made to teach Islamic history in a dignified manner.
The active participation of thousands of people is required to implement all these steps. Islamophobes are organized, funded, and media-supported. Our response must be equally organized, wisdom-based, and confident. A section of the youth must be engaged in the world of Islamic thought, literature, culture, and technology.
Our aim is not to personally attack atheists—but to destroy the social acceptability of their ideals and philosophies. If today a young person speaks openly against Islam, and it is praised—then it must be understood that the side of truth in society is weak. We must make this truth visible, audible, and tangible.
The Islamophobic ideology is not only defeated, it is bound to be ostracized—if we stand courageously with the weapons of knowledge, unity, and dawah.
