Global Music : Yo Yo Honey Singh, welcome back! You've been away for quite a while, and your return has been nothing short of a sensation. First, let’s talk about your sudden disappearance from the industry. What happened?

Honey Singh: Thank you! It feels good to be back. Well, honestly, it wasn't planned. After years of working non-stop, I found myself going through a difficult phase in my life. The pressure of being constantly in the public eye, the workload, and some personal issues took a toll on me. I struggled with mental health — anxiety, depression, and I needed time to heal. It was a tough period, and I just needed to step away and focus on getting better.

Global Music : That sounds like a very challenging time. How did you cope with it, and what was the turning point that led to your return?

Honey Singh: The turning point was realizing that I had to focus on my mental health. I’ve always been someone who pushes himself to the limit, but there comes a point when you have to listen to your mind and body. Therapy, meditation, and spending time with loved ones helped me regain balance. I also realized how much I missed making music. It was my escape, my passion, and the only thing that truly made me feel alive. Slowly, I started writing again, and when the music started flowing, I knew I was ready to come back.

Global Music : You came back with "Makhna," and it became an instant hit. How did it feel to be back in the studio and see your music connect with fans again?

Honey Singh: It felt amazing, honestly! There’s nothing quite like the feeling of being in the studio, creating something from scratch. "Makhna" was special for me because it was the first song I released after my break. I was nervous, but also excited. To see the love and support from my fans, who had been waiting for me, it was overwhelming. It reminded me why I started doing this in the first place – for the music and for the people who connect with it.

Global Music : Your fans were eagerly waiting for your return. How did you feel about the love and support you received during your hiatus?

Honey Singh: I can’t express enough how grateful I am for my fans. Even when I wasn’t in the public eye, I could feel their love, whether it was through social media messages, fan letters, or simply hearing their appreciation when I met them in person. Their patience gave me the strength to heal and return. I don’t think any artist can have a better support system than what I have. The loyalty of my fans kept me going through the toughest days.

Global Music : Over the years, the music industry has evolved, and new artists have emerged. How did you manage to keep up with the changing trends while staying true to your style?

Honey Singh: That’s a great question. Music, like everything else, evolves. I always try to keep my ear to the ground and stay updated with what’s happening. But at the same time, I believe in staying true to my roots. I love experimenting with different genres, and over the years, I’ve realized that blending fresh sounds with what I’m good at is the key. It’s important for me to stay relevant, but not lose my identity. I’ve collaborated with younger artists, tried out new beats, and at the same time, kept the essence of Yo Yo Honey Singh intact.

Global Music : We’ve seen a shift in the kind of music you’ve been creating since your comeback. Is there a more mature, reflective side to your music now?

Honey Singh: Definitely! When I first started, it was all about party anthems, high-energy tracks, and being larger than life. But as I grew older, I began to look at life differently. I’ve experienced a lot, both good and bad, and that comes out in the music. There are still the fun songs, of course, but I’ve also started writing more meaningful lyrics, reflecting on life, love, and struggles. You’ll notice that in songs like "Saiyaan Ji" and "Badshah." I want my music to be a reflection of where I am in life, and I think my fans will connect with that.

Global Music : You’ve been very open about mental health and your personal struggles. Why did you feel it was important to talk about it?

Honey Singh: Honestly, I didn’t want anyone to go through what I went through without realizing it’s okay to seek help. We live in a world where mental health is still a taboo topic, especially in the entertainment industry, where there’s so much pressure. I want to be real with my fans. If I’m feeling low, I don’t want to hide it. It's okay to not be okay sometimes. Talking about it is the first step in healing. I hope that by sharing my journey, I can encourage others to take care of their mental well-being and not shy away from asking for help.

Global Music : You’ve always been a trendsetter in the music industry. Now that you're back, what's next for Yo Yo Honey Singh? Are there any exciting projects on the horizon?

Honey Singh: Well, I’m always working on new music! I have some exciting collaborations coming up with both Indian and international artists. I’m also exploring some new sounds and experimenting with different musical styles, so stay tuned for that. I’m also looking forward to performing live again. There’s nothing like the energy of a crowd, and I can’t wait to hit the stage with new songs and see the fans' reactions.

Global Music : Before we wrap up, what message would you like to give to your fans, especially those who have been with you through thick and thin?

Honey Singh: To all my fans, I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’ve been my strength through the toughest times, and your love has meant the world to me. I promise I’m back, stronger than ever, and ready to give you the best music. Keep supporting me, and let’s make some more memories together! And remember, no matter what you’re going through, always prioritize your peace of mind. Take care of yourself, because you matter.

This simulated interview captures some of the key themes from Honey Singh’s comeback story — his struggles with mental health, his gratitude towards fans, and his desire to evolve both personally and professionally. It also highlights his efforts to remain relevant in the ever-changing music industry while staying true to his roots.
