The Toothpaste Tragedy

"The Toothpaste Tragedy: How One Wrong Squeeze Turned Rafiq’s Morning into a Frozen Nightmare!" ❄️😂

By Mirhadi TahsinPublished 12 months ago 2 min read

Rafiq was not a morning person. In fact, he was the opposite—a certified, card-carrying member of the "Do Not Disturb Before 10 AM" club. Unfortunately, life didn’t care about his sleep schedule, and today, he had an early morning class. So, at 7:30 AM, still half-asleep, he dragged himself out of bed like a zombie and stumbled toward the bathroom.

His eyes barely open, he reached for his toothbrush, squeezed a generous amount of toothpaste, and began brushing.

Except… it wasn’t toothpaste.

It was Grandma’s extra-strong, ultra-cooling pain relief gel.

The moment the brush touched his teeth, his entire mouth was AMBUSHED by an arctic blast stronger than any winter he had ever known. His gums went numb. His tongue felt like it was being preserved for a science experiment. His lips trembled. His soul tried to escape his body.

Then, his brain finally processed what was happening.

"AAAHHHH! I'M FREEZING FROM THE INSIDE!"

Rafiq exploded out of the bathroom like a man possessed, knocking over a chair and nearly crashing into the fridge. His father, peacefully sipping tea, barely had time to react before Rafiq skidded into him, causing the entire cup of hot tea to spill onto his lap.

Now both of them were screaming.

Little Aisha, Rafiq’s 10-year-old sister, peeked over the sofa, munching on cereal. “What’s wrong with him?” she asked, eyes wide with amusement.

Grandma, sitting calmly by the window, barely glanced up. “Oh, he must have used my menthol pain relief gel instead of toothpaste.”

Aisha snorted. “Idiot.”

Meanwhile, Rafiq had reached the kitchen sink, frantically gulping down water.

Big mistake.

Instead of relief, the cold water intensified the freezing sensation. Now, it felt like tiny penguins were ice-skating on his tongue while a snowstorm raged inside his cheeks. He gasped and reached for the first thing he saw on the counter—a bottle of honey.

Or at least, that’s what he thought it was.

He squeezed half the bottle into his mouth, desperate for warmth.

But the universe had other plans.

It wasn’t honey. It was mustard.

Rafiq’s eyes bulged. His body convulsed. His soul officially left his body.

Now, his mouth was experiencing a category-five blizzard and a volcanic eruption at the same time. His taste buds were at war, and he was losing.

He screamed again, running in circles like a malfunctioning robot. “WHY DOES MY TONGUE TASTE LIKE A SPICY SNOWSTORM?!”

By now, everyone in the house was watching, either laughing or deeply concerned for his sanity.

His mother finally walked into the kitchen, looked at her son—mustard dripping from his lips, wild eyes, toothpaste foam still on his chin—and sighed.

“Not again.”

Aisha had her phone out, recording everything. “This is gold. I’m posting this on TikTok.”

Meanwhile, Grandma casually walked up to Rafiq and patted his back. “Next time, read the label, beta. Unless you want your mouth to turn into the North Pole again.”

Rafiq, still wheezing, collapsed onto the couch, his tongue hanging out like a tired dog. His morning had officially been ruined. But worse than that, he knew his little sister was about to make him internet famous for all the wrong reasons.

And that’s the story of how Rafiq became a viral sensation as "The Boy Who Brushed His Teeth with Icy Pain Gel."

Moral of the story:

Always read the label. Or risk turning your morning into a tragic comedy.
