"The Back Story"
Backs
The back man packed a backpack full of backs,
He took the back road to go back home
He cried out "I'm all backed up"
People yelled back at him
"Turn back"
He looked back
Seeing all those who wouldn't back down
He trudged back
Ahhh the background was phenomenal
His favorite of all backs
He turned back around
But oh no, he couldn't go back now
He forgot about the back end of it all
Who cares? They all backed out
And now all he wishes
Is to go back in time
Someone knocks at the back door
"Back off" he yells
They're back for him
He gathers his backs and tries to escape
They've surrounded his backyard
Luckily he went through the front
And he whispers to his backcountry home
"I'll be back"

I debated for a long time on whether or not I should post this... what this is. I wrote this years ago - back in 2020 - with the intention of using back in many different ways, it was a fun little challenge I did for myself when I was feeling... hmmm, what's the word? Vivacious. I won't take this back.

Generally I'm a lover of football myself and feel like I may be misleading in my title but I'm accutely aware there are still many of us women that would relish the telly to themselves over the weekend whilst their darling off spring are off socialising and creating choas locally. For those of you that don't I found a way to make it through the games!

πI can hear the drumbeat within the hard consonant of 'back.' It reverberated throughout this piece. πThis story was truly adventurous. There is such a clever irony in the word 'back'; who would've thought you could build an entire world out of it from start to finish? It truly reads with the depth of a novella.
