The Chicken We Eat. Top Story - May 2025.
It’s Tuesday again, which is wild because it was just Tuesday the other day. Tuesdays entail eating dinner at an impossible speed so my husband and I can race both kids off to their overpriced dance classes where they learn a routine they then perform for one whole minute to an auditorium of hostages at the end-of-year dance show.

The Day My Autocorrect Ruined My Life: A Tale of Miscommunication and Mayhem
The Day My Autocorrect Ruined My Life: A Tale of Miscommunication and Mayhem Introduction: Autocorrect's Hidden Risks We’ve all been there. You’re texting away, feeling confident about the message you’re about to send, only to be betrayed by your phone’s “helpful” autocorrect. It’s happened to the best of us — a slip of the finger, a momentary distraction, and suddenly you’ve typed something that not only doesn’t make sense but could very well ruin your entire life. Perhaps not your entire life, but at least a few days or weeks of total shame. The unsung hero of modern communication is autocorrect, which prevents us from making the dreaded typos and from experiencing extreme frustration when we type a word incorrectly for the hundredth time. But what happens if autocorrect decides to take matters into its own hands and transforms your perfectly reasonable message into something that is impossible to recognize? Let me take you back to the day it all went wrong — the day my autocorrect truly ruined my life. Or at least, my reputation.

The Break Room
Deborah had spent virtually her entire work day waiting for her break. She didn’t have time to fit in breakfast that morning, and had slept poorly the night before, so she was definitely not functioning at full capacity. As soon as the clock struck - okay, maybe a few minutes before - she bolted for the break room. She had a date with a mac and cheese microwave meal.

"The Great Prank War at Work"
"The Great Prank War at Work" It all began quite casually. Dan, an extremely serious accountant, was clicking at spreadsheets while seated at his desk. Even though the office was business casual, he was the type of guy who always wore a suit and had the energy of a sloth after a three-day snooze. For him, work was all about numbers, following the rules, and staying away from anything that could even be called "fun."

My Cat Thinks I Work for Her: A Day in My Servitude
Introduction: If you've ever lived with a cat, you know that they own you rather than you own them. As a proud but slightly defeated servant to my feline overlord, Whiskers, I have learned to accept that my life revolves around her needs, whims, and demands. The more I try to establish dominance, the more I realize I’m merely a background character in her kingdom. This is the tale of my daily life, filled with humor, frustration, and an overwhelming sense of inferiority to a creature that weighs barely more than a bag of flour.
