Learning with laugh and Humor
My ‘Absurdist Awakening’ challenge
Laughter is one the things that will keep my soul and spirit alive and happy as much as possible everyday and night. I always love to have an adventure with joyful, excitement, and laughter. I also love an something is making me laugh even when I’m feeling down. This is quite challenging for me by making a humor story. It was also surreal, unique, and mysterious about what are my comical adventures from birth to thirty-six.
I always like comedies and hearing contiguous laugh which it make me laugh as well like to cheer me up, even if I was a bit low. But—What do you mean birth? Well, it had all been started when I was…. maybe at least several hours old, I was began to open my eyes(I think I done it before after my birth) one of my dad’s old friends was holding me and then said ‘She’s said dude.’ My dad laughed and my mom laughed too— and then my first laugh/smile.
And this how it started.
I began to start to explore for my first adventure with comedic life—
During my life as an infant to a toddler, my parents encouraged to my big brother for trying to made me including ‘peek a boo’ and doing raspberry on my arm. I couldn’t lay my eyes on him.
As a toddler or maybe when I was in kindergarten, I wouldn’t forget when I get sad or drawn with tears(I cried for no reason, but sensory issues maybe), sometimes people came over to cheer me up like a hand puppet, stuffed animal, or a beanie baby would wave and say ‘hello’ to me. I tried to calm down. It did cheered me up a bit later on.
During my childhood, I always love to hear and see that would made me laugh and giggles. I also laugh to hear my familys’ laugh— it can be contagious- I love to listen their laughs, like form the live shows, because it also makes me laugh. On the other hand, Whether it was from the cartoons, live shows, my family Trips, hang out with my school friends, and watched comedy films.. Sometimes, it can be embarrassed and annoying in the public including the burp/fart noises and annoying babydoll giggles.
I couldn’t help it — and I am not gonna lie, the fart jokes are still making me laugh !
During my lifetime, my family and I were fan of Mel Brooks’ works, even when my dad was in college during mid-70s. One of the best things in my lifetime, especially recently, it’s that when my dad and I were talking each other based on lines from Young Frankenstein- even we watched together or memorized the lines- laughed together before our night time or doing some housework/groceries.
Also, I was so curious about the show called ‘Mystery Science These 3000’ (MST3K) while my big brother was watching it during the 90s. It was quite interesting. After that, I was began to fond with it. It is really hilarious about enjoying yourselves while watching terrible movies ever made. I also reconnected it and watched series during the pandemic, even the new ones (before pandemic starts). I think this is one of the good shows to watch during COVID.
Also, During pandemic since 2020 and even 2021, I did watched the ‘history of Comedy’ on HBO max about what does the comedy had starts. I did learned that the old comedies started 4th-5th century BC in Greece (Aristophanes), then William Shakespeare(1564-1616), and then somewhere in 1895, and then there’s Charlie’s Chaplin. During the series, I became fond of Carrol Burnett while my parents know about her and her show is hilarious. They were right — it is hilarious, I could not stop laughing, and it helped.
I know my adventure is not easy nor perfect. Life is still non-linear. the biggest struggle to deal with is my mental health and serious condition (PMDD) are still challenging every month—- I also have many ups and downs. But, Im trying to best to make me laugh and giggles— I know my family wants to hear my laugh even whenever I need space or alone time. My laugh makes my family spirits bright and happy, and so it’s mine…
I have to keep showing my laughter everyday no matter what…
