When I started my spiritual journey, I thought wanting less was key. I thought it meant having fewer things and less emotional attachment. But, I soon found out that growing spiritually is about wanting more, but in the right way.

Your spiritual path is about wanting more, not less. You should want more wisdom, love, purpose, and connection. The idea that wanting less is spiritual is a big misunderstanding.

The Misguided Myth of Wanting Less

Many teachings say to let go of ego and material things. But, this can lead to feeling stuck if taken too far. Shrinking your dreams can stop you from growing.

I once thought ambition was bad for my spirituality. I avoided career chances and creative projects. But, I felt empty inside. It wasn't until I learned to see spirituality as growth that I changed.

True spirituality is about wanting everything that makes your soul grow.

Why Wanting More is Essential for Spiritual Growth

1. Desire is the Engine of Evolution

Desire isn't bad; it's what we desire that matters. Great spiritual leaders didn't lose all desire but focused on higher goals. Desire for wisdom and love drives us forward.

Suppressing all desire stops growth. Ask yourself what you truly want. Wanting more clarity, compassion, and connection with the Divine is key to your journey.

2. Expansion Over Constriction

Nature grows when it's not limited. Trees grow tall, rivers flow, and galaxies expand. So does the soul. Believing wanting more is bad limits your growth.

Letting yourself want more opens doors. Wanting more meditation, gifts, or a meaningful life attracts more. Want from a place of wholeness, not lack.

3. The Power of Sacred Ambition

Sacred ambition combines spiritual surrender with purposeful action. It's knowing you're both seeking and creating your destiny. Embracing wanting more—more peace, joy, and divine connection—engages you in your spiritual journey.

I used to think wanting success was unspiritual. But, if God is infinite, why limit what we receive? Wanting more doesn't mean holding onto specific outcomes; it's trusting in the universe's plan.

4. The Illusion of “Enough” in Spirituality

Many think reaching a spiritual level means stopping growth. But, spirituality is a never-ending path. Stopping to think you've reached the top means you've stopped growing.

Seasoned meditators may stop growing because they think they've reached a peak. Healers might stop improving their skills, thinking they've learned enough. The biggest spiritual breakthroughs come from always wanting to learn and grow more.

5. Wanting More Love, More Light, More Service

Spirituality is all about love. Love grows as you share and receive it. To deepen your journey, seek more love for everyone. Seek more light to share, not just to get. And seek more service from a full heart, not out of duty.

Changing my focus from letting go to embracing changed my practice. Prayer became more passionate, meditation deeper, and life more meaningful.

How to Want More Without Attachment

Wanting more without attachment is possible. Here's how:

Clarify Your Highest Desires – Know the difference between what you want and what your soul desires.

Release the Need for Control – Want with all your heart, but trust that the timing is perfect.

Take Inspired Action – Spiritual growth needs both intention and action.

Practice Gratitude – Appreciate what you have while wanting more.

Stay Open to Infinite Possibility – The universe's gifts are beyond your dreams.

Conclusion: Your Soul is Calling for More

Spirituality is about growing, not shrinking. Don't be afraid of wanting more. Direct your desires towards the highest good.

Your journey doesn't ask you to want less. It encourages you to want more—more truth, more freedom, more connection. Embracing this, you'll see the universe rewards aligned desires.

So, today, ask yourself: What more does my soul truly long for? Then, without doubt, go for it.
