This is my personal opinion that I am sharing with you.
I often witness such events in my life, which is why I wrote this piece.
My writing points towards the Eastern countries, and it’s possible that some of my brothers from the West may not agree with me on this!
I apologize in advance if anyone feels hurt!
Poverty is not a sign of a lack of intelligence or abilities. Many poor people have exceptional talents and understanding that go unrecognized because of a lack of opportunities.
Despite their struggles, most poor people maintain their self-respect. Unfortunately, their dignity is often overlooked.
Poor people also have dreams and aspirations.
Poor individuals face societal attitudes and mental pressure, such as sarcasm, humiliation, and discrimination, which can deeply affect their mental health.
Unfair Distribution of Resources:
Society promotes a system where resources are limited to a few, leaving the poor in a state of deprivation. This inequality is the result of our collective attitudes.
Lack of Education and Opportunities:
We have failed to create a system where everyone has equal access to education and job opportunities. The poor remain deprived of the necessary resources and platforms for a better future.
=>
A poor person often has a deep sense of empathy.
They understand others' pain better than most.
They always live in a world of truth.
They never get lost in fantasies.
Outwardly, they may be poor, but inwardly, they are rich.
<=
We often look down on poor people.
why?
We get so caught up in our own comforts that we ignore the struggles of the poor. Failing to take action to solve their problems shows our collective indifference.
Sarcasm, humiliation, and the attitude that "they are responsible for their own situation" create mental pressure for them. Our behavior makes their struggle even harder.
People often respect those with power and influence while ignoring or belittling the weak. Poor people are seen as weak, so their respect is given less importance.
Sometimes, people put others down to protect their own status. Poor individuals are easy targets because they don’t have the resources to protect their dignity.
The Daughters of Poor Families:
The powerful in society often target the daughters of poor families for their own desires. They believe that poor people won’t speak up against them.
Instead of respect, poor girls are often seen with pity, contempt, or as objects of desire.
Some people exploit their vulnerability to use them for their own wrong purposes.
In today's world, where the gap between the rich and the poor keeps growing, we need to reflect on something very important: how we treat the poor. If we don’t show them compassion, kindness, and respect, what kind of society are we building for ourselves and future generations?
Being poor isn’t something anyone chooses. It’s often the result of unfair systems and circumstances that are beyond their control. Yet, society sometimes treats the poor as though they don’t matter, looking down on them or ignoring their struggles. This behavior is harmful, and if we continue down this path, we risk creating a society that is cold, divided, and lacking in basic humanity.
5 Key Points to Keep in Mind:
1. Compassion is everyone’s duty.
It's easy to think that poor people are in their situation because of their own mistakes, but that’s not always the case. We should all try to understand and share in their struggles. Showing compassion is what makes us human.
2. True brotherhood is not about money.
Brotherhood and unity go beyond wealth. We are all part of one community. Instead of looking down on the poor, we should lift them up and support them, because we are all connected by our shared humanity.
3. Respect and good manners are for everyone.
Regardless of how much money someone has, they deserve to be treated with dignity. When we treat everyone with kindness and respect, we make the world a better place for everyone to live in.
4. Ignoring the poor hurts us all.
If we turn our backs on the poor, we lose our own humanity. A society that ignores the struggles of those in need is a society that has forgotten what kindness and empathy mean.
5. We will be held accountable in the hereafter.
Our actions in this world matter. In the Hereafter, we will be judged by how we treated others, especially those less fortunate. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Those who do not show mercy to others will not be shown mercy." This is a reminder that our kindness in this life will impact our fate in the next.
Conclusion:
As a society, we have a responsibility to care for and support the poor. If we fail to do this, we are building a world that lacks compassion and kindness. Let’s remember that how we treat others in this life will be judged in the hereafter. By showing love, respect, and support to everyone, no matter their financial situation, we can create a world that is more just and compassionate.
