Kcee during interview

Nigerian singer Kingsley Okonkwo popularly known to the world as Kcee has been making music professionally for over 24 years now. Now, years into his career and on the heels of the success of his new song "Ojapiano", Kcee is deciding to now start wearing masks and hiding his face, in a similar way to what Nigerian music legend Lagbaja used to do.

Kcee spoke about the reason behind why he decided to do this when he made a stop at Cool FM for an interview. During the interview, Kcee said about the new look:

KCEE: It's intentional. I'm an OG, I have been around for over 24 years. They know my face, they have been seeing me every other day so I just decided this time, nobody sees my face. Like I just want to catch this vibe and cruise, you know, change the style of music, dressing, and all. I always love to just evolve and change myself. So this is one of those days. So now I'm going to be masked up if I like, and I will take it off if I like because you already know me.

Speaking more about the decision and why he wants to give us Lagbaja 2.0, Kcee sat down for a separate interview with Hip TV. During his interview there, Kcee said:

KCEE: I'm wearing my mask and I'm all masked up, covered up. It's just a new Kcee. It's a new season of dum dum, and I decided to cover up my face. And you guys have been seeing my face for over 24, 25 years so this time around, I chose just to cover it up and just give you some Lagbaja 2.0, Kcee 2.0. I love you guys, stay tuned.

Kcee has now been making live show appearances, music video appearances, and every major appearance he's been in recent times, wearing this mask.
