Why Blogging?
Because life's stories deserve to be shared.

I am sitting in the corner of my room at my house in Konkan. Everything around me is moving and getting on with their lives. My phone glows in front of me, and I can hear the sounds coming from the house. Such sounds remind me that I'm right in the middle of everything. The aroma of "Talleli Macchi" is coming from the kitchen and I just couldn't help but think to myself, "I really can't believe I am doing this." I am writing my first blog post. Seemed easy when I thought about it, but now staring at this blank screen in front of me, feels like an enormous challenge. "Chala, ekdach lihu ya," I tell myself as I click "Create Story." I never even thought a few months ago that I would be doing this. Life does have its funny ways of throwing surprises at you, and from worrying about your "Tally skills" at your first job one moment to sharing your story with the world the next.
I did not begin blogging because it was cool to do. I didn't think I would be famous or some kind of social media celebrity (but who knows, maybe that is what I am), but instead, life is filled with little funny, awkward, or just weird moments that help make who we are, and the best part is that we all have them. Whether it be the first working day, real concern about preparing for the entrance examination in law, one can relate to these experiences. Therefore, it becomes nice to share.
Let me tell you about a day I will never forget: my first day at the CA firm. It was not special for a major success but for the fact that I tried to spend most of my day without embarrassing myself. I walked into the office with the thoughts, "I can handle this.". I completed my B.Com; I really love numbers. But Tally, the software I needed to learn became a big problem. It felt more of a puzzle which doesn't have an answer. Could not even see the difference between ledger and an asset account. Everything appeared to be worsening rather than becoming better with all those fixes. By the end of that day, I really felt like giving up. Then again, I laughed at myself and decided that this must be some other person's story too. "I think I now understand why this story needed to be said," I said. For it wasn't so stylish, but it was all true.

So, let's talk about the law. I guess it is like most people's dream job? By "most," I mean a few people who do not mind waking up with textbooks and then working on those entrance exams. I did not know that this path lay ahead of me, but life brought me here, I guess. I did some early-morning study sessions trying to understand legal cases while my brain shouted back at me, "Who even wrote this?! "became my new norm. You know that feeling when running a race, yet someone's sitting on top of your shoulders asking you what "jurisdiction" is? Yeah, that was me. Every day was an obstacle course but when it finally made sense then for sure felt like the gold medal."
But here's the lesson that I learned: nobody does. And that's it; that's okay because it's kind of nice; that's the messiness. The fun in life lives there. Whether it happens with the chaos of going into work on my first day or whether it's my feeling overwhelmed by law school studies, every moment creates a story. And to share those stories? Well that is worth telling. Sometimes it's in helping readers feel less alone in this or that struggle.
I am starting my blog. I haven't figured everything out yet, but a funny disaster, a failed try or an awkward moment has such a story to share. Maybe it will make you laugh. Maybe it makes you think. But most likely, I hope we just find things out together. There's a lot of life story inside me, and this one, too.
