What I Do When Women Take Pictures In My House Without Permission - Chike

Chike speaks out

By Jide OkonjoPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

Nigerian singer and actor, Chike, is opening up about how he deals with the risk of female fans and visitors coming into his house and taking pictures and videos. During a new interview with Echo Room, Chike opened up about what he tells the women who enter into his home, and what he does when people who he tells to not take pictures or videos in his house go ahead and take them anyway. Here is what Chike had to say about the whole thing during his new interview.

During Chike's interview with Echo Room, he was asked "When you have female visitors over, I mean, maybe not to indulge in sexual intercourse or whatever, are you one of those people where if you step into my home, as a female to you being a male, do you have to sign an NDA?" Chike responded saying:

CHIKE: Ah, I no dey give anybody NDA oh, but I dey always try politely tell you say please don't make --

"Do you tell them 'drop your phone at the door'?"

CHIKE: I think I'll start doing that now.

"Oh you haven't done that?"

CHIKE: No, but I politely -- at least -- see, we're all human beings and we have considerations. I politely say 'oh please don't make videos', guess what? 99 percent of the time they still do. They just do it when you're not there so it's very annoying.

"And what do you do afterwards?"

CHIKE: What would I do? I just won't have you over again. That's all. The video you have made, carry it and go, anything you want to say from the video, that one concern you. We had intercourse abi? No wahala. At least na man to woman, there is no problem. It is not a revelation. Anything you want to do, that's your business, but me I know I won't have you over again. And should I be asked if I know you, I don't know you. Because what will I do na? Shey I want to cease the phone? Shey I want to take it from you? I've already appealed to you and you still went ahead to do what you want to do what you like. It's so funny that sometimes when you even do those measures you know, those same people that broke those rules will come and say you're unkind, you were too harsh, you were rude. But they were very unkind, they were the problem.

It's not only celebrities that deal with this and it is so very annoying when it happens to even the average person that I cannot imagine how upset someone in the public eye like Chike would feel about this happening to them. I just don't understand why some people don't understand that certain people don't like the inside of their homes being photographed or videographed.
