Increasing immunity in children through various methods, healthy habits, and ensuring a regular schedule is especially important because from birth to puberty, the little one is exposed and fragile to germs and risky external conditions. We all know: children catch a cold easily, it's not strange that they catch a cold as soon as they catch a little cold!

Every day, the little one is exposed to viruses, microbes, and weather conditions and often has a cold or flu. The immune system of children (especially in the first years of life) is fragile, but it strengthens as they grow older. It is normal for little ones to experience colds, infections, and flu quite often, but these can be reduced in frequency and severity by increased immunity in children.

You should not consider that you can not avoid the colds of the little one, because you can adopt some preventive measures that will help the harmonious physical and mental development of the child.

What are some of the steps you can take to increase immunity in children?

First of all, breastfeeding - the mother's milk is best for the baby, it naturally contains exactly the ingredients needed for its development without complications.

Doctors recommend breastfeeding for a year, but if the mother has difficulty, two months of breastfeeding can make a difference, helping to strengthen the immune system. But, unfortunately, some mothers simply cannot breastfeed, who feel a mental aversion to this - even so, breast milk can be secured by pumping and storing milk in special containers.

The children are greedy and their happiness lies in candy and chocolate. But you have to make sure that you get used to a healthy diet from an early age and that you learn that you can only enjoy your favorite delicacies at a meal. Instead, get used to fresh fruits and vegetables: vitamins are essential for boosting children's immunity and protecting them from infections and even chronic diseases.

A few fruits a day will protect the child from colds and flu and in addition, they are tasty - oranges, apples, strawberries, bananas. Get him used to enjoy these fruits instead of chocolate. As for meals, make them three meals a day that is consistent and rich in vegetables. Yes, kids hate fresh vegetables and love french fries, but if you learn it from a young age, they won't protest as much.

An exercise program helps both to increase immunity in children and to ensure harmonious physical development. Thus, when the child is small, do certain activities that involve movement with him: walking, energetic games, riding a tricycle.

These will keep him in shape and ensure that you have a great time with the little one. And after he has grown up, at the age of 6–8, you can enroll him in various group activities - he will also form his friends and he will have an enviable physical shape. Dancing, gymnastics, swimming, skating, tennis - just a few of the options available.

But don't force him - if he doesn't like going to meetings, look for something else that suits him, and if he's not a fan of the exciting movement at all, you can see if he's attracted to more fun and less regulated sports: cycling, roller, football, skate.

Provide your child, especially before the age of 7, with a restful and regular sleep schedule. Without enough sleep, it is more prone to illness, while rest helps to increase immunity in children and adults.

When he is a baby, he will sleep most of the time anyway, up to seven years old, he will need at least 12 hours, and after 6–7 years, at least nine to ten hours. Get him used to an hour of bedtime and even if he protests, wanting to play or watch TV, try to be as strict as possible.

Kindergarten usually provides the necessary sleep schedule, but once you start school and wake up at six or seven in the morning, you need to make sure that you sleep for an hour or two and in the afternoon or that you go to bed at nine in the evening. . If you are both at work all day and use after-school programs, be very careful what they entail: unfortunately, some schools create such programs that do not involve an hour of sleep, but only play and writing. of homework.

Ensure a clean and sterile environment and hygiene: children, it is known, get their hands on anything and even eat various unhealthy things, so educate him from an early age to wash his hands after going out before eating. after going to the toilet, playing with animals, etc., and not touching dirty things. In addition, make sure that there is no dirt in the house and that he does not bring outside things into his room.

These are preventative measures rather than methods to increase immunity in children, but they are just as effective and necessary. Also, do not expose it to cigarette smoke: if one of you is a smoker, make sure you smoke outside or in a room where the child does not have access. Passive smoking has two major risks: that of inhaling smoke, but also that of a negative model!

Last but not least, to increase immunity in children, make sure you do not fill it with drugs, especially antibiotics for any cold: even if they take effect quickly, antibiotics weaken the immune system and the body's natural ability to protect itself. in the face of viruses. So, if it is a simple cold, limit yourself to the traditional treatment: rest, warmth, teas, soups, vitamins, and an aspirin.
