Transphobia, and the bigoted reduction of women.

On nearly every social media platform, there is constantly an argument between people who love and support trans people, and bigots. This argument is about if trans people are truly the gender they identify with. The people who support trans people argue that trans people are the gender they identify with, while bigots say that they are not. When the bigots are asked what separates trans people from “real” people, the bigots pull out the same tired ass argument, specifically about trans women. They say that being a “real” woman is about their ability to carry a baby in their uterus, and give birth. That’s it. That the tired ass argument they whip out every time.

Quite frankly, I’m sick of this deeply flawed rhetoric. This does nothing more than exclude cis woman who cannot carry or birth children. It also objectifies women by reducing them down to nothing but their birthing abilities. These bigots who spew this flawed rhetoric are making cis women seem like nothing more than a unit that was brought to this earth with the sole purpose of birthing children and repopulating the earth. I can’t even begin to express how much I fucking hate this way of thinking.

It’s also crazy because it’s not just bigoted men who spew this hateful argument, It’s also cis women who say this also. There is this popular Instagram account called ‘th*sh*d*er**m (I don’t want to get sued, If you know, you know) that always mentions the LGBTQ+ community, knowing that 75 percent of their audience are deeply bigoted.

So every time they post about the LGBTQ+ community, specifically trans people, specifically trans women, the comment section is so horrific. It's ALOT of men that are saying transphobic things. However, I’ve realized that it’s also women that are saying these transphobic things too. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’ve already known that women can just be as bigoted as men, but I've just recently realized that women are objectifying themselves and reducing themselves to nothing more than just beings here to produce babies, just to get across their bigoted opinion. These cis women are literally reducing themselves to nothing more than something that makes babies, just to get across their transphobic rhetoric. That’s pretty dumb if you ask me.

I honestly wish that cis women would stop reducing themselves to just baby making beings just to be transphobic. If you ask me, there are plenty of other qualities women possess that makes them women. Being a woman is about more than just getting pregnant and having children.

In my opinion, being a woman is about being strong, yet, allowing yourselves to be vulnerable and weak at the same time. Being a woman is about getting shit done, regardless of the circumstances. When I think of what makes a woman, a woman, I think about how woman literally always get shit done, despite what’s going on around them. I’ve found that under pressure, men usually crack, and give up. Woman on the other hand, still get the shit done. THIS, is what I think makes a woman, a woman. Not the ability to birth a fucking kid.

So, in conclusion, cis women, please stop equating your womanhood to having a fucking uterus. Not all women have uteruses. Not all cis women have a uterus. Not all women, trans or cis, can give birth.
